Windows 7 Starter (32 bit)

Post by Nebukadneser »

I am considering an Acer Aspire One running Windows 7 Starter edition (32 bit) to control the GUI of my NOAH EX over USB. Does anyone know if this is at all possible with the Starter edition? It is limited in many ways? I will not be running a DAW on the machins, only use it to access the NOAH remote software to see the graphical interface. It is impossible to program Noah using the LCD only.

I cannot answer if NOAH will work.
I use Win7 32Bit on my Xite-machine and it works well. ( You can also use tools of the XP-age without problems with 32bit win7.)
The useable memory is limited to 2GB, but there is a patch, so you can get up to 64GB. ( search for win7 pae patch)

since Creamware made the remote software and they went out of business in 2007, the remote software was never intended to work in win7.
it will open and will mostly work, but do NOT attempt to update the Noah firmware! the remote software really should not be used in anything newer than XP or OSX 10.2.
