We are perhaps going to be preparing and offering a big batch of high quality STDM cables for sale.

We would be happy if we can get some indication of how many of you would like to order and how many cables each.

The best price we can make is something like 20e per cable, with shipping already included. If you want a bunch, then we can make a better price maybe per cable.

Please note that it is likely going to be a one off batch, so if interested do tell

I'd grab a few as well, 2-3 for my own reserve as I would appreciate the time saved, and maybe even a few backups to offer to forum members if needed in the future.

As I'm an EE, I can build my own STDM cables, but I'd like to give some hints in case of troubles with STDM:

If you get errors in scope concering DSP communications, the cable might me the problem.
You could use contact-cleaner spray to clean the contacts inside the STDM-plug and the golden contacts on the PCI cards, too.
Afterwards you should clean with alcohol and let it dry completely.

In some cases, the manufactoring of the STDM-cable might be incomplete. The Plug consists of two parts, which are pressed together with the cable inside. You sometimes have to press the two pieces together once more to have contact inside the plug improve. ( The plug cuts through the isolation of the cable.)

If you own only two PCI cards, you should always use the plugs on the ends of the cable. It's even better to have only two plugs on such a cable.
( I cut the cable using scissors.)

And the reason for using the “ends” is similar to why BNC connections and old SCSI require termination: the ends of the cables won’t receive reflected interference that middle connections on in-terminated connections might. Ie, noise. Though I don’t know the frequencies at play with STDM this still seems sensible

My home made STDM cables are so unreliable - once I actually get the connection working I have to leave the side off of my PC case and leave my PC running 24/7 otherwise the connection is lost and to get it working again is a nightmare
