I read that one can use 32bit programs in 64bit.

Can you install scope 5.1 32 bit on a 64bit system? (I'm thinking its drivers that will prevent this???)

no, and there would be no point for the reason that you suspected, you need the 64bit drivers.
also, Scope is just the GUI for the dsps. there would be no difference in performance.
