I'd like to find a setting, where I can get the best quality (at least 48K and 24 Bit) playbak for a wav file using VLC. Wave Source doesn't seem reliable enough, any other means?

I believe VLC doesn't output anything else but thru wave source in Scope. You have a 24bit wave source, I never tried with VLC.

What is your problem ? No sound ? Crackling ?

Sound only on wave source. This produces crackles and distortion. No good. Does that mean, only ASIO is usable? So the only way is to use another soundcard to get the sound out of the PC and use this as input?

I had a look at odeus asio-link and and it seems to do the job. So there is a way to have windows seeing a wdm channel and scope an asio channel. The asio-link just connects both.
