Was sur lab killed? Why?

Sur is not the only developer that ceased to sell in the shop.
Sur was out of the shop the shop until recently, when it returned for a short while.
there really wasn't any earth shattering reason, both parties agreed to remove the plugins.

why not try storm? similar in some ways

Storm is cool, I get that demo and see

I personally really don't understand why stuff gets removed.
Shame to see them disappear again as at some point I wanted to get cos.. Love void and void 2..
At least who ever has the synths can feel unique..

Well, I bought a Hardware Synthesizer now.

What still puzzles me though, as basically I have seen bx and sur audio stop selling in the sonic core shop and their presence gets removed from the main site as well. (Any how's I can understand a developer not developing any more stuff, but to remove something seems to me, madness!)

Those are from Orbitone, not from S|C... Maybe they had enough money to buy an island in Pacific ocean and live like billionaires, that's simply all.

But selling some sc plugins is like a self running money machine! At the moment there is no progress in development. Windows is frozen because of the handy hype, and scope is frozen to 5.1.

Why Not selling plugins?

OS makes it new, thats a little bit movement.
I love the Synthesizer, but drone machines are Not making my music. It makes only wohwohwohwohuuuh...
But its up to you what you like, whats your taste.

it's a (sad) matter of fact that the opposite is true - which has been discussed here years ago
the rest of the story can be figured out by checking who left the platform as a commercial developer

Well just to prove a point, I'm bored with synths and want something a bit unusual and love drone music. So

The plug ins were available to purchase for around 10 years. On every platform ever in the universe things come and go.

Lesson to be learnt for customers.
If you want something buy it asap.

I have been meaning to buy flexor for years.

What would be nice of developers is to have a goodbye announcement to give a final chance to customers who always ment to buy something!

Oh noes! I was literally going to try and buy VOID and COS after I closed on my house. Is there any way to purchase them at all --outside of the SonicCore shop?

I doubt fra would sell COZ and VOID direct, as there would still at least be the need for the key registration process which only SC could do.

As for the BX stuff removal, I would be fairly certain that would have been a condition of the UAD partnership.

in past times many developers just used the method of adding the customer's name to the GUI
without any further means of protection
who buys such synth today must be an honest person by nature - imo that works quite well

I'm using SAW Studio for years and they are still in business
not big, but probably quite solid
there's no obvious protection, it can be moved around and run from an USB stick, ultra-convenient
Lentini relies on the honesty of his customers...

we also had a thought to work on a model like that, system of trust. for the scope devs we are still with the copy protects but on user area we went with that, no protections what for
