dNa Optimus Prime is pretty 'different', have you tried that? Maybe ask faxinadu for a dynamic delay, interesting idea.

Free stuff seems to be a new trend with iZotope. There is another one recently for vinyl simulation but that does not seem as useful as delay. Been looking for a new kind of delay myself.

But if you really want a delay that is rich, different, amazing, endless possibilities... Take Echoboy from soundtoys ! It's from far the best delay plugin from anywhere ! But it's not free ! Try the demo... It's worth the price !
