A lot of old parts, a few new ones. The case is ready to be shut after I get couple more large case fans (in blue). My case has been open for over 10+ years. It has always been a mess. Time to get my $h!t together boys

Yes, all those big PSUs come with a ton lot of cables, I have no idea what to do with them. there are those modular power supplies that let you plug in only the cables that you use. But this one will last me a long time and it's probably 3 times the max power my computer can drain This is a left over PSU from a 6 core i7 with two gaming cards

I am waiting for a Presonus USB box (audiobox 1818vsl) and have a behringer ADA8200 for 8 extra inputs. I couldn't find the Presonus anywhere in Canada, would have to wait close to 2 months to get one, so I ordered one from the US for the same price and it should be here this week. I also got a proper 8x8 MIDI interface, but again, no one seems to have these in stock

I am streamlining my setup. As soon as work slows down, I will be actually ready to spend some time with it.

This Presonus unit seems cool, I saw a video to see how it does, and it has many features never included in such kind of units, cool

I had not the opportunity to make any music so far with my new system. I have to work, and all I do is audio editing at the moment, so cannot say anything yet.

This box + Behringer plus 8x8 MIDI will cover me. I am still finishing my SID box. Then a MadMouse Pro. They're both kind of analog!

How do you handle MIDI there? Which is the way to connect it to have real time response? Sorry about my ignorance, I have always used Pulsar and nothing else.

Anyways,

I took apart the ADA8200.

It uses generic 4580R op amps. 4 of them on the inputs. 8 of them on the outputs.

The best quality replacement I found for those are Texas Instruments LM4562 ($3 a piece). I only care about the inputs really. So that's $12 worth in parts. I think I forgot to mention that I'm very good at soldering

I have no idea where the Black Lion Audio replaces the capacitors. I didn't see any input capacitors. If I did, they were electrolytic which well, there is no audio grade for those.

My cheap SMT rework station came here from Amazon this morning. The chips also came.

I am hoping to do some measurements on the weekend to see if it actually does improve the sound (I know it's just looking at numbers).

Fortunately, I can say so, I'm already working with it and my system it is really tough!

The DSP really DID do a lot of work, so now I need a way to compensate.

The system was stable under all sorts of tests. It's just that CPU was being overloaded when set on the 64 sample buffer latency.

Is that you in the picture? You are very well built!

I will post my new build once I get all the parts.

This will be mostly for people who do native and hungry plugins. With Scope, this system would be more than enough...

If that was my picture, I would be braking all my bases into pieces when doing slap! I am big, but definitely not that thought! Take the picture as a representation of my new system, which really is like the picture, it handles anything you pour at it.

For Scope you need, in most cases, just about any PC that runs windows, and that’s it. Native is much more exigent, it is true.

I haven't lost any money yet. I've actually gained more by redoing everything.

The Xeon I ordered from China will not be able to ship for a while because of holidays and bad weather.

So I ordered another Xeon from Japan. will 12 cores be enough to run 2 instances of Diva plus some reverb? If it's not enough, I don't think I can find a faster chip that exists right now. It doesn't really make sense to me

Yes, it's important to have everything ready when you're playing live. This is not a big deal for me as I will never play live.
