I'm using W7 64bit with 8GB (4x2) ram on an ASUS P5Q. I'd like to put 16GB (4x4) ram (DDR2 800mhz) but my purse is dry... I'm a bit stucked with kontakt large sample libraries.
-- Maybe someone has some DDR2 800 and don't use it anymore ... ? I could buy him ... Humm... Anyway ....
So, I need to set up the memory management as best as possible. So what is the best choice in system->performance options->virtual memory ? Now, the feature ''automatic exchange file on all drive management'' is on. Is it the best ?
And 2° question : is it better, on "application performance" to set "programs" or "back ground services" ? Now, it's the second feature which is on, like it was recommended on XP.
Thanks for any advice !
Memory management

Re: Memory management

Re: Memory management
Try using Alacrity PC. You can shutdown programs and services (like networking or windows explorer or...). Then have them restart after your DAW closes. Its free, no junkware, and does what it says.

Thanks a lot, Mr Superstar !
It's very interesting but I don't find the way to apply the services / software modifications I made. When I try to save, I get this message : Maybe you had the same issue... So if you have found the way ... I'm sorry to ask but I don't find much help for 'alacrity pc'...
Thanks a lot !
