Z-Link On Xite-1

Hi,

On the Xite-1 there are the Z-Link connectors that I use with Sonic Core A16 Ultra. As it is I can have 32 I/O with Xite-1 but I got lucky with this as I bought the older A16 Ultra that actually also had the Z-Link connection on. If I'd not bought this I'd only have the option of 16 I/O as the new Ferrofish A16 does not have the Z-Link connector on.

Are there any other ADAT boxes that have the Z-Link connector on? - Z-Link was Creamwares version of firewire wasn't it? -

Are Sonic Core planning on releasing another ADAT box with Z-Link on? - Someone could buy an Xite-1 or Xite-D and not be able to utilise the Z-Link ports on the Xite hardware if they can't find a used A16!

there have been plans to make another Z-Link converter. i don't know if it will happen at this point. there may also be a MADI retrofit for the XITEs, but it's just a thought at the moment.

Ah how would that work?----Z-Link on Xite-1 to go into MADI on ADAT via a connector that S|C make?

no. madi instead of z-link.
don't get too worked up. it's not anything definite at this time.

As far as I remember, there is no support for the Luna converter from the Xite

As the xite got a zlink port, it seems logical that sonic core should provide a way to connect some new a/d convertors which got zlink to it , or a way to connect adat/smux a/d convertors to zlink with a convertor :)
I think that if the a16 mk2 got zlink, a lot of xite users would think to buy one, even if madi is a good option, but not compatible with the xite without a conversion... Or add a madi/zlink convertor to buy.
It's a shame that we can't buy new a/d convertors with zlink at all for the xite, and must buy second hand A16 to do it :(

Yes Guppy - well spoken - :) - I'm only OK with this as I had a S|C A16 to use with Xite-1

How much would the cost be to implement the Z-Link on the A16 as well as the ADAT? - I know S|C is niche market but it could be made less niche and more mainstream with such development (this costs £££$$$EEE) to set up - :-? but hopefully with Scope 6 more of the niche is overcome so more people become Scopers..... :)
