Just some news from the CopperLan camp that were revealed during NAMM 2014...

1. There will be a hardware controller in 19" rack format for the Eiosis AirEQ plug-in powered by CopperLan.
This is actually what I had in mind when I was talking about flat front plate controllers in the ScopeRise CopperLan article... So it became reality way faster than I was assuming... lol
Having said that, the controller shown at the NAMM show was only a prototype and they plan to have it available by the end of the year.
AFAIK it will be sold separateley and can be used as a general CopperLan controller for any targets. In the video below he says the price will be $1500-$2000 ...

2. Audio over Ethernet with CopperLan support

So I wonder if it's possible to build a little converter box that can be attached to the Xite to make use of this technology?
Plug the box into the XTDM or Zlink port and add Ethernet Source and Dest modules to your SCOPE project... possible?

Cool to see the 1st controller coming up.
But I´d say,- we need a "universal" controller and not a originally for an EQ specialized one.
FX devices, synths and mixers in SCOPE are too different to work w/ a single hardware controller except a very big one offering enough faders, knobs, encoders and push buttons and giving enough visual info about the different configurations when changing controler-sets for different devices.
I think that´s very hard to realize in hardware and never being satisfying.

User editable applications for multi-touch screens are more promising to me.

I wonder why they made it USB2.0 and not USB3 or Thunderbold.
I´d wish the card had an ADAT I/O !

There will always be the same problem,- everything designed and manufactured for SCOPE/XITE alone won´t sell enough devices in the market.
So, being satisfied w/ 24Bit/48K and w/ ADAT would be the easiest.

Now, the 1st question is:
Should it be a small ADAT to USB2.0 interface or ADAT to Network (AES67) to connect to that card,- or a box which does it ALL,- ADAT / Z-LInk / USB2.0 and Network (AES67) ?

Next question:
Who designs, builds, financiates it ?

It´s all a long way and I´ll be retired when available,- I fear.

Let´s see we´ll get SCOPE 6 soon ...

Then we see how good it is and what we can do w/ it.

I thought the Z was full of cackling Hens but the makers of the Air EQ left lots of folks pissed off if you read the NAMM 2014 thread over there.
That developer stepped into a huge pile of shit....
