Sonic Time Works reverb plugins still available somehow?

I am wondering about the status of the old Sonic Timeworks STW P-100 and related plugins. Their website doesn't mention them anymore, and the last reference I can find on the web is 8 years old. Are they still around? Any good? I am looking at buying a Lexicon PCM 81 and PCM 91 for my rig and read that these were close emulations of some of the functions of the Lexicon PCM boxes.

Thanks,
Tim

The P-100 is now included in Scope, but I can't remember which version of Scope it first was included with. I think Scope 5 but not sure. Maybe someone else can tell you more

From what I know they are included in scope 5 onwards.
They have been re faced and re tagged as sc products. If you look at the pics of scope they are the white looking devices/reverbs.

Wow, these are a long way sonically from the PCM algorithms they claimed to be back in 2004!

Well what do you expect for having an emulation of an emulation...?
I mean the original PCM reverbs aren't even realistic, but sound great at emulating space.
So I view this issue as a family tree with natural spaces as in a treated room at the top of the tree. Right below them are DSP based hardware effects units, then the DSP and Native ITB stuff.
So on the lower level you are really just using the emulation of an emulation.
But samples from Kontakt are brittle and weak, therefore they must be bathed in effects or they sound no better then the crappy Hammond sound of a Korg M1 w/ the effect disabled.
We haven't really evolved over the last 20 years, but kids love these native tail makers w/ built in pre delay.
As a child I grew up by massive 100+ year old sewers we could drive our bikes through. When you talked or made noise the sounds made were instantly enveloped by natural spaces, no waiting time for the effect to mathematically create itself, etc.
With Windows and Mac reverbs, you get a free pre delay, followed by a half assed tail, but it still beats having dry samples.
Now imagine the family tree here. We are using Kontakt with built in gunky ass "reverb."
It is an emulation of the emulation of the emulation as it's not good enough to be real, or hardware, or DSP/Native, as it sits at the very bottom of the tree.
This explains it's foul quality which is at best a tail maker.

Well said!

I enjoy the scope reverbe even though I also own a eventide eclipse.
It's all about flavor and taste.

Nothing beats the parking house at work.. It's having a tail of 5-7 sec!!

seconded - I even have an access key for one...
at night or on weekends when everything is silent around that's an amazing tone - no software comes even close :D
it's all just tools - I like what the old A100 does at short distances with the tone
but I don't mind sparing a few PCI cycles by a Valhalla Room - the name's so inspiring...
even scored a Powercore for bargain and I still keep the SPX90 and Intellifex for outboard.

the only thing I REALLY do regret is that I didn't buy one of Paul Tanti's bigger reverbs.
So I'm left with just a PT2016 as that was all an old Pulsar 1 could run at the time...

cheers, Tom

@dawman
Ugh... Kontakt...

Info on the web dating from 2004 suggests these plugs were "ported" from the Lexicon equipment, apparently that is not the case. I really like the SC-Plate.

Its the only uncracked system; so its understandable that it is used. And its worth having for this plug only.

Seriously.Nothing in scope comes remotly close at the moment.

The P100 is identical to the PCM91 rich plate algorithm. A100 is identical to the PCM91 ambience algorithm.

Only SC knows if there's any differences between P100 and SC-Plate.

Ehm well. I still do some prototyping on Scope SDK - so existing and future products does exist in some form in Scope ;)

Hi Warp,

Good to see you around, and to hear you are still prototyping in SDK :)

Indeed the Plate is a highly editable PCM91 emulation, and it sounds great.
If I were a vocalist it would be my choice for the Lexicon sound.
And knowing Warp69 is still involved somehow warms my heart, as nobody I ever spoke with had as many hardware reverbs and knows the gear and concepts of reverb better.
I'd love to hear what's up his sleeve...

FWIW I often defend his VST 480 at a Virtual Instruments forum I hang at sometimes.
I get pissed when these whiny bitches cry about prices, instead of quality of the craft.
I always tell them to post some of their work using their 40 Dollar Native jive, they don't respond, which basically makes my point....

Cheerz

Hey I just wanted to come by to say I also love Warp69´s Scope Reverbs!!
And I would maybe even cry because of overwhelming feelings if he would release another creative delay on the level(or beyonde?) of his Chorusdelay!
Seriously.

Peace,
Manuel
