windows 8 just a little test

I just installed Windows 8 in double boot because I knew a pb with the install with scope v5.1 (64) and a windows 8 preview version.
I confirm with the official windows 8 pro version, scope shows error message in the detection of the boards (PCI boards for me).
Just to inform, I know this is a new OS and to test the compatibility.
I hope scope 6 will be compatible.

you can install v5.1 in windows 8 if you disable driver signing.

info from M$ and a customer who has made it work:
"You can permanently enable Test Mode () by opening an Elevated Command Prompt and typing the following commands, then rebooting:

bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

To turn it off again, use these commands:

bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF"

Could I change this param and turn it off just after install of scope ? or must I turn it on forever ?

Here's a different way to switch driver signing off

Open PC Settings, click on General, and then click on Restart now under the Advanced startup section in the right pane.
After the computer has restarted, you will see the startup options menu. In that menu, click on Troubleshoot.
From the Troubleshoot page, choose Advanced Options, then choose Startup Settings.
From the Startup Settings page, choose Disable driver signature enforcement and click on Restart.
After Windows 8 has restarted, locate the Scope folder. Inside the Scope folder, double-click the Driver folder. Choose either 32bit or 64bit installation folder, inside this folder click SetupDriverScope.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
Restart your computer to restore driver signature enforcement.

Hey,

Just upgraded to windows 8 pro.
All 3 cards were installed perfect, like in windows 7 (1x Luna II and 2x Pulsar 2).
I have just one problem.
I was coping back my Scope 5.1 backup folder with all my old files and everything works fine,
just scope 5 can't find file DAS COEF11 vxd for DAS plugins MasterIT and C350.
I have one COEF11.sys file in Scope 5 folder, but i guess it's not the same ? or ?
All other DAS plugins works just fine and all other plugins inside Scope 5 too.

Any clues ?

Best,
Matej

Hey Gary,

No, i have 32-bit.
I have that file in sys folder already, but scope 5 still says it's missing that vxd file.

it's not a vxd file. it's a sys file.

are you running Scope "as administrator"? when you start Scope, do you get a warning window asking if you want to let Scope make changes to the system? if not, close Scope, right click on the icon, choose "properties", on the sortcut tab press "advanced", put a check in the checkbox "run as administrator", restart Scope and answer "yes" when the warning box opens.

Does anyone manage to start Scope at startup.
While i have installed Scope software, there was no entry in msconfig-startup.
I also tried to use old way "trick" to write into registry, run , but no sucess.
Any other way , tip, trick, anything maybe ? :)
It's not so annoying like it's now, but anyway ...
