Phaser effect?

(Referring to the swirling poly synth in the intro) Is this an ARP sent thru a phaser stomp box? Or internal LFO modulating a filter or something a lot more sophisticated?

I've set up some Prodyssey strings through the Scope stock phaser effect and it's close but can't really get it to sound as rich.

Might be an LFO modulating a Band Pass filter? Or two LFOs on different rates?

Either way, classic track, haven't heard it in ages! Thank you!
Hope someone can offer you something more definitive.

It's not an 8 or 12 Stage Phaser like Moog or MXR uses.
It's definately a FIlter Sweep.
Tell me which stock synth you want this on and I'll make you a preset for it.
In all honestly the MIDI Pole Filter, 4 Pole Filter, or Interpole could easily do this.
Definately not a Phaser though,
Jean Luc use to use an MXR and BiPhase back in the day, and you can always tell the phaser effect as it is unfiltered and wetter.

As an example use the Flexor III Patch called Sea Synth to hear a Band Pass Filter modulated by LFO. Don;t know if you have that or not, but you could just use that Patch the sound is so close.

Thanks JV and Eanna. JV if you can throw me a quick patch on one of the stock synths or ModIV that would be cool cause for learning I'd really like to know how that's done. Interpole would be great as well then I can use it for other synths. I don't have Flexor yet (I don't feel i've earned it yet, bought the tutorials back in the summer but haven't had a chance to sit down and go thru them then I will fork over the bucks for flexor)
Thanks for the help
Dan

If you can do this on Interpole (w/ audio example) that would be great as I'm doing a Scoperise article on Interpole & some examples would be a welcome addition.

Until I get the Prod or Moog for you use the freebie here, and do watch this invaluable video so you can use Modular, or any synth.

thanks for the link, maybe it's time to sit down and go thru the rest of the course and really learn the mod. (esp since I already spent the money :D ) That's prob my best bet for recreating this sound.

On any instrument or Modular Patch you care to create.
I am not sure if you are on the XITE-1, but you have much better results making specific patchs, rather than the ultimate object of desire, or Modular Towers as I call them.
For the sound you want, it's very easy, very light on resources, and if you use a Multi Filter, you can go from various LPs, BPs, HPs and AllPass Filters.

Once you get that happening, you'd be shocked to hear Silentway Suites 24bit audiorate modulations.
Your host can send the audio into Modular and the Envelopes, Portamento and LFOs are zipper free and so creamy, they make Modular sound so realistic for an In The Box Synth.

Well this is close but still not quite right. I'll have to work on it some more. Used the stock mono Resonators on the L/R at different rates.

It sounds nice, but I will use an example and post here within 48 hours as I am hustling back and forth, and tomorrow Joel B. and I are going to hang, but this will be an option you might like too.

Until Then....

I wonder if this might be what he used on an ARP? of course those were/are monophonic aren't they so prob some other synth strings patch.

http://m.bareille.free.fr/biphase/the_vintage.htm

I guess he used the mu-tron bi-phase on his violin so maybe it stands to reason he just decided to hook up the synth?
