Interesting way for a synth to be patched.

Just thought i would share.
The new continuum firmware was released and it has now got a cool built in modular synth on the onboard DSP, called the "EaganMatrix"
what is interesting about it is that you dont really have any "bunch of modules with knobs on" but it is mainly based on the patch matrix. instead of simple x connects to y patch points, each one can be a different formula, including mod sources and lfos etc.
more info:
http://www.hakenaudio.com/Continuum/V5/V5.html
it has a bit of a learning curve, but i think it improves the continuum. changing it from a controller with a few sounds, to an instrument.

That controller is awesome.
I have seen it with KymaX software and a fully loaded Capybara and the seperate bending of notes, while others remain unaffected are just one the tricks I wish I could do on my CHinese junkwagons.
The example above is certainly mouthwatering....

separate bending of notes is what its all about. think of how a guitarist can take the simplest few notes and make them sound expressive. its like that.
this is using its own built in DSP though, no kyma. you could make some patches in this, then take the continuum on stage with no computer and use your patches.
I dont really want to learn kyma, I did buy the book,So i could see what it is all about, but see it as sort of ass backward, nonstandard, and a bit dated.(and i hear the paca has noisy fans) though i would love to be able to do some of that real morphing they can do, but not THAT much
its going to be hard enough getting back in to scope programming.

That just looks completely bewildering to me.
At least I can cope with Sonic Attack - how about an update?

I always loved this little beastie.

more bewildering than jimV's plogue screens?
it just takes the XYZ inputs and uses them in formula with LFO etc to decide the amount of what to send to what, and 16 note polyphony.
it sound really nice.
sonic attack works fine for me in Xite-1 whats wrong with yours? oh yeah i really like it too, waldorf + fm wasnt done much anywhere, and like everything else in scope, with external MIDI clock input (not windows/cubase/ableton etc crappy MIDI) even the sequencer is tight as you like.
when i get scope sdk 6 that will be the first synth i work on. it is my fave.

What is Sonic Attack?

green synth on the top left. named after a hawkwind/michael moorcock song.
It is a synth i made for scope. it uses the waldorf oscillator which can modulate an FM oscillator, destination based modulation, and some other things. (mixable LP BP HP filter like steiner, etc)
for me it works fine in XITE, but maybe not for others, not quite sure why that would be since i am using a new system without my old SDK/DP on it.

yes it can do fierce "wubs"
but that wubs me the wrong way!

I emulate the Continuum but only with automations.
For example a B to E string bend on a real Guitar to get matched pitch requires a pre recorded note on an autonated track and my timing with the realtime overdub must be very accurate.'But in Solaris I will out up a Guitar seperate bend trick using the extra Decay and Sustain of a seperate VCA Generator on 1 of the 4 parts.
It even bleebs in an extra harmonc, and while not sounding like a Guitar it is unique to Solaris and can pull off Papas Will by Nugent of Black Sabbath War pig bends.....
I will need one day,

Those scare me, I don't even look at them. I always quickly scroll past any of Jimmy's pictures (except the ones with fine trim of course).

Nothing wrong with it, I just always want more features and new stuff. Also it would be nice to have an XITE-optimised version, not that it's a resource eater. Also I don't like the fact that it's beta 003 still - I finally want a version 1!

Give it a try, it's fab. There are some more presets here (which I don't think are included in the download):

Alright Tony. I was asked to stop such activity, but recently this old friend gave up her duties in Prostitution for the State and promised to raise her daughter w/o returning to her old ways.
Pic was before I got a PC..However she is still a fine creature at the ripe age of 40 and looks even sexier than when she was a well paid dirtbag....
Thanks for Sonic Attack I never knew of it's existance...
4 x Seperate Instrument Banks in Kontakt with Remapping of Program changes and various filtering trigger via pedals looks scarry but really isn;t.

Now that I can gaze at for ages (the top image that is).
All the synths are on page one of this thread:
http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=30623
However I notice the TransPlanet 3 doesn't work properly - no presets available and the icon disappears when you click on it. Sonic Attack is probably the best in functionality on XITE (no funnies) and my preset file contains an extra 48 presets by me and some by Petal and the long lost Michu.

SHe is Greek and Lebanese, her daddy was staioned as an attache in Germany so she went from having Maids as a child to a much more meger lifestyle in the States. I have been mesmorozed by her since 1992 when she was faced with a decision to attain her spolied childhood. Mustang says it all. She'd bring in groups of fine creatures with fistfulls of cash into Reno after 3 weeks of imprisonment working for the man/State. A room full of happy celebrating women is hard to describe.
Her accent is enough to drive a man nutty, speaks and uses French very well....
Thanks again for the presets, they will show me the way.
Besides I always steal them and put my name on them so people think I know what Im doing..
And Newt, thanks for a great little synth, FM + Wavetable is brilliant, we are lacking the FM Oscillator in Solaris, so when I see something that extends the sound pallette in a Proj Window, I shall find a use.
I will be connecting Solaris to the AES/EBU on SXITE-1 as soon as my new Converter arrives.
I have already devised a Tape Saturation device with PsyQ pre Adern modules for a real character boost.
It is the finest sounding synth I have ever owned, so along with Vectron and Sonic Attack I shall pursue further experiements but it is a cut above the reat and FAT BASTARDS are what I crave.
