Not enough Pci slots dilemma

So I bought a Luna 2 card and it came with V5.1 Scope. I plugged it in and im like, okay! time to bang out some tunes. Of course polyphony is at extinction level on this thing.

So I make the effort to purchase 2 6dsp cards(ebay  ), one almost got snuffed from me but I fought back(it came with a few premium plugs on it, Sixstring was one of them :o ), meaning no fast food or extra goodies for a couple weeks. lo and behold as im paying for the cards, it dawned on me...oh crap, I've only got 2 pci slots

I found a cpu and ram compatibale motherboard with a 775lga and ddr2 memory and 3 pci slots, by Biostar on newegg, but the reviews use words like DOA, CRAPPY, DIED ON ME, etc.

So my question is can I use a Pci-express to Pci converter for one of the cards?

you can, but it has to be external, the cards wont fit inside your case with a riser adapter.
There is a guy here on planetz that is doing a pcie to pci converter with box that works fine. - and its pretty cheap as well.
Cant remember his name, but do a search.

I would NOT buy a crap motherboard... you'll just have loads of trouble.

-you say you have 2 pci slots, whats in the other one??

One slot has the Luna Scope 5 card in it and the other one is empty. Ill have a total of 3 pci cards but the two 6dsp pulsar cards are sfp 4.0. Hence my dilemma

So I can use a convertor, hmmm...

THe advantage of the conversion adapter with the ribbon is a good way to take advantage of a 2U ATX using Horizontal PCI output slots, but GaryB has the right idea. Scope can be used with any cheap old Computer.
I actually hooked up an old 6 DSP card to my Internet PC which is a PERL865 board w/ a 2.4GHz Northwood CPU just to play with Reaper and mix small stuff. Gave it to my kid, but he's into working while schooling, and chasing trim.
I couldn;t let my old faithful Scope card die a slow death like that so I threw it in this junk tower.
I had to use 2 cans of air and 30 swabs of alchol 99.9% to clean the old box up first. It was crusty as a haunted house.

I went ahead and got the intel board, but I wished I would have seen your post first about the adapter.
Oh well this just means I'll have a backup incase the old one dies. Or for that matter, since the 2 pci slot board is an ASUS, and I thought I seen somewhere Sonic Core suggest this brand for Xite, I'll store it away until then.

Alright so one week before my chips and board is here and I can get back to making real music.

the intel board is great for XITE.
