Das Plugins

How do DAS plugins compare with other Scope plugins and VST?

I like the look of MasterEQ but I have Brainworx's MS. Are the algorithms different?
How do the compressors compare? Do they have a special sound?

Thanks

I like very much the Polteq and the reverb bundle.

From my understanding DAS retained thier brand's sound by using standard Scope filters (instead of thier own filter algo) when they did the BX port. A wise move IMHO - so :

BX_Digital uses standard Scope filter atoms
MasterIT uses DAS proprietary filter algorithm (my preference)

More info on MasterIT here :

And on DAS compressors here :

BX_Digital uses standard Scope filter atoms
BX_Digital_v2 ?

AFAIK the same applies to BX Digital V2. I'll double check that.

Confirmed. BX Digital (all versions including V2) uses standard Scope filter atoms, which are very good as many Scope EQ's use these atoms.

However, they were designed such that multiple instances of them could run on a LUNA (a constraint on many of the earlier Scope algo's / devices). One of the primary purposes of a Luna was to allow a potential buyer to try out the Scope system (and all its standard devices) before spending more on a Pulsar or Scope Pro.

The DAS filter algo (as used in Masterit, C350(L) and Legend) was built with no such compromise, so therefore uses more DSP in order to sound better. But with XITE these days, that trade-off is a no-brainer.

So, is there a difference between digital_bx_v2 of scope (mine) and the native version of it , do you know ?

I dont know sound wise, since I have never heard native BX Digital. It maybe depends on whether the native version was optimised to use less CPU (in which case the sound may not be as good). But more likely the opposite could be the case if it was coded when native CPU power was getting ridiculously abundant (no 'Luna' like constraint).

DAS makes really good plug ins.
I have all of them, but use the Legend on Solaris as the Tube Sound is incredible, and it's EQ has the usual DAS precision.
DAS made me a custom mixer that no longer works in the XITE-1, but I don;t mix entire bands anymore as the singers are a major source of irratation, but I think Eric is making a nice mixer for us, and Olive seems busy with an EMT Plate, and some nice Amp Models.
It helps to have the person making the plugs actually have the experience on the hardware too. I know Eric uses an SSL and ProTools HD, and Scope. So he's not just giving you a pretty picture, but probaly capturing the Bus COmpression, etc.
Here's what Eric is use to using, and me too for the last few years.
