BSOD on uninstalling scope 4.5

My apologies if I'm in the wrong topic area, but it's a
PC issue not a scope issue (I think)............
Today I uninstalled my scope 4.5. As it went through the uninstall process I suddenly started getting messages asking for the XP disk, SP1,SP2 and SP3 disks, none of which were recognized when inserted. It was removing system files with the scope program. In fact it removed all of Microsoft office as well!!!
Obviously on reboot the OS wouldn't boot. On trying to reinstall XP I get a BSOD, suggesting I remove drivers, try changing graphics card (didn't help) or updating the BIOS. The stop message said:
STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC00000085, 0xF786A0BF, 0xF7CB6208,0xF7CB5F08)
pci.sys - Address F786A0BF, base at F7863000, datestamp 3b7d855C

Anyone know what all this means?
I have dual OS system and the other OS operates fine. I was thinking of reformatting the defunct partition through the second OS but thought I'd better ask someone who knows first, before I completely screw it all up. If I have to play with the BIOS this would be unfamiliar territory for me. (The second OS is my nice fast XITE DAW so don't want to clutter it up).
HELP ANYONE ? ...---...

Take it to a local shop for a fresh install. Or you could take the advice from several people with differing opinions, but the chap at the local shop HAS to guarantee his work.
I had a similar problem once with a DAW I allowed to upgrade on line and use internet connection.
I keep all music seperate from online/internet PC's now.
