Well, it´s a little embarassing- but I trashed my Obsidian freebie-modules in the Pulsar2 after I`d installed the Pulsar3. Damn! Didn´t think of them- and now I can´t find them on my backups. Does anyone know if they can be found somewhere?

Nope. No answer from the Obsidians- and buying them would mean that I have to buy the whole bundle. Damn, I´m panicking. All my patches in the Modular have Obsidian modules in them. I don´t understand- they were free, and now they are nowhere to be found. Umless you buy them. Strange.

Aaaaah! Guy on Obsidian sent me the precious stuff. I´m happy again. Thanks Ben. Thanks Guy. I will never trash my Obsidian modules again.

Hi,
Guy tells me he'd think about making the Obsidian modules available as a seperate package if there was enough interest.

You can find out about the 14 Obsidian Modules here.

Reply to this post if you'd be interested in getting the modules, or write to ge@obsidianuk.com.

Ben

I didn't know those were availible for the Modular! They look great! Is there anyway to download them? I checked the page, but I didn't find a downloadable link for the modules.

Thanks again,

I'd better give a bit of background.

Guy used to run a software company called Obsidian, and together with Angus Hewlett from FXPansion they produced a number of plugins for the pulsar, as well as some modular modules (the ones detailed on the link above).

The modules were designed for Modular 1, but they should still work in Modular 2 & 3, although they are the wrong size to fit neatly into a single M2 'rack' space.

Guy no longer produces software for the Pulsar, but his company (now called Blackstone Software) is still creating VSTi's, etc. Given the number of people who've recently requested a link to the Obsidian modules, I contacted Guy and asked if he'd think about making the Modular Suite available again. He said he would if there was enough interest.

So, the modules aren't currently available, but Guy might be persuaded to change that situation if he's badgered enough.

Cheers
Ben

Obsidian have also provided a distortion script for the Blacksun DSP synth, a SpaceF synth not available anymore for the moment (and which user should backup, not loose .

Haha

Still got all of the Obsidian modules. I do like them, but they're oversized compared to regular modules and do cause fatal errors when the "part that's too big" overlaps another module. So watch out.

Another device for Obsidian, the audio2gate doesn't work w SFP. I'm quite sure we'll never see it to work again. But don't worry...

Take care.

Guy was one of the active ones in building up the reputation of the Pulsar platform. When he finished he sold a toolbox with a lot of very interesting small modules.(in fact it has been two, one 15$, one 25$) All written by himself for the Sharc DSPs. Osc, switches, filters etc. I used them for a demo at my university. I felt it a great loss when he decided to quit. And his example, in my eyes, demonstrates that the support for the developers by the manufacturer is simply not sufficient.
So once again: Please, CW, enhance your service for the owners of the Scope DP platform
Sorry folks, but in a thread like this, this has to be remembered.
Happy pulsaring
Micha

since the new contest, i got more interested in modular, and just reading the comments on the modules featured on the obsidian site made some things more clear already (it's been a long time that read the manual  ).

so yes, i'm very interested in these modules. especially the feedback module. is there something already available? i looked in all modI and II folders, but couldn't find anything similar. nor could i find a solution through wiring. only got messages about the software not being able to make the connection.

sorry for the ignorance...
a modular novice, slowly getting interested in the possibilities

Yes, now there is a stock CW feedback module for Mod2.

really?
well, digging a bit deeper, i realise i still haven't upgraded to 3.1c, and the modular that came with that upgrade. could that be it?
all the time i have been waiting to get hold of a macOS 9.2.2 to 'get really started'... luckily enough i'm having fun enough with 9.1 and 3.1a
yes, upgrade i must. if all the talking about 9.2.2 and SFP3.1final is true...
