On investigating an issue raised here regards 5.1 beta testing

http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php ... 01#p269101

I found this

http://www.cubase.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=140129

Apparantly propheads are working on it though.

Doesn't seem to be a problem in Reaper w/ ReWire.
I don't have a need to ReWire Bidule inside of Reaper anymore,
but it obviuosly seems to still work as before.
Perhaps YamaBerg Cubase is so over bloated it can't except anymore code..?

Could be :) - depends though - is yer Reaper 32 bit or 64 bit ?

Apparantly from propheads :

"I am sorry, but we have not announced a new version of ReWire that is 64-bit compatible, and can unfortunately not discuss or reveal any development plans. All we can say at the moment is that ReWire and all our products work on 64-bit operating systems as long as both applications using ReWire are 32-bit applications. Sorry I can't be of more help. "

Well, if this doesnt change by the time I decide to go 24bit, looks like Kontakt might replace my Reason (if I wanna run X64 ver of YummyBerg). Unfortunate since the $250 I just spent on Propheads probably coulda bought me a Kontakt xylophone section :D

Kontakt requires seperate folders for 32bit and 64bit when installing and there are a few tricks that aren't listed on their knowledge base.
Let me know and I can save you several hours of talking to yourself....

Upon further investigation ReWire in Bidule and Reaper will work but it makes no sense to use it as I would loose the memory advantages gained by 64bit.
Now we will see their definition of soon...

Well yeah if its coz the rewire forces you to run 32 bit apps - then those 32 bit apps wont see all the ram.

This 64 bit thang is only as strong as the weakest link in the audio chain, so the wait will always be on for those dragging the chain

Apparantly 64bit Rewire should work with Reaper coz it has a wrapper ?

https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/sho ... p?t=131044

"Reason uses ReWire to talk to other programs.. and ReWire is not 64-bit friendly.
there are a few exceptions.. there might be some 3rd party programs on the Mac side (I think) that can deal with this. and I believe Reaper has it's own scheme (ReWire wrapper) to be able to use 32-bit ReWire in it's 64-bit installation. "

Wrappers cause instability. I don't use them. It would be even worse with two programs open. Someday everything will be 64 bit. Too many developers are dragging their heels! Sibelius is 32 bit so no ReWire on that for me :(.

Yeah Im not going to bother with wrappers or workarounds, Ill wait till all my apps are compiled to 64 bit.
