The news some weeks ago says that the 64Bit beta of SCOPE will be released before xmas...well i've discovered now
that they don't talk about the year!
Maybe they are talking about xmas 2010?

...or release 64bit drivers for both platforms when they're ready.

Perhaps the will present their 64bit-Release first on the Winter NAMM tomorrow?
Who will be there to visit Sonic Core?
I hope Sonic Core will not wait until the Mac-version is ready... I am a WINDOWS7-user and I will change to 64 Bit soon!

SC is not going to be at NAMM, but John Bowen will be.
I will be visiting his booth at NAMM.
I don't think 64-bit will be announced this weekend, but I could be wrong.

Well, it's not like we have a choice, do we ... the 64 bit revolution has yet to begin for us Scope owners. There's not even a beta despite the promises we were given.

Well to be fair to Sonic Core, they didnt promise it, they just gave an indication of when they thought the beta would be ready.
It's frustrating that it's been such a long wait. My new pc rig has been in temporary 32 bit Windows for all this time, holding off installing a full setup of all software I need, so as not to waste my time doing it all again when 64 bit drivers arrive. And I'm slowly having to install more and more!
But I'm sure Sonic Core have good reasons for the delay, and will release it as soon as they can.
Cheers,
Menno

eh, sorry to sound a bit flat on this one, but 64 bit isn't any revolution at all...
just one more step deeper into thoughtless... scheming
I'm curious what aspect you'd consider revolutionary, tho.
Seriously - I'm not kidding or pretending that I'm the ultimate know-it-all...
You can save the effort if the answer would be: load a few gig as samples
I never heard worse samples than recently - people don't seem to listen anymore...
To be honest, I was blown away by a piano from the
Korg DSS1 the other night, that would fit on a floppy disk or so... a 23 year old sample.

Not that I wanna be retro, but browsing that site and listen can have some grounding effect.
Imho enhanced capabilities of our machines don't corelate well with musical quality of most tunes today.
And that's not a matter of adress space...
cheers, Tom

I agree totally. The piano sound of my two also 23 years old Kurzweil K250 is still great and very useful in the mix, also the other sounds of these old beasts. And we are talking about some little kb (!) of memory needed for these sounds and these are 10 bit samples.
As always, people run for features. But could they use these to get "better" music? If so, ok!
