all of us have many grooves found on magazines or downloaded as mp3 or grabbed, and many of these have very nice patterns but are made with stupid sounds or with congas or something that we would like to play with an analog set.
this patch filters the incoming stereo (or mono) sound to three different module columns, the first providing bd, the second sd and the third hh.
the new sounds go to a micro mixer and then, after compression, to outs 1 & 2, while the incoming sound is bypassed to outs 3 & 4.
some times when the incoming sound has very similar sounding bd & sd, it happens that the sd reconstruction section is triggered also by the incoming bd. this is not too bad as the groove is preserved and most of the times this unwanted effect is not so loud.
on the other side it is surprising how very strange sounding incoming grooves can be reduced to a basic bd-sd-hh analog sound.
if the produced bd is too low or too loud and resonating (everything is related to the incoming sound balance) tweaking the mix2 level above on the first column usually fixes it well. also if a specific sound to be detected is not stereo centered, tweaking the mix2 individual knobs can bring it out better.
i didn't add effects on this patch to keep it lighter.

enjoy, alfonso
