hardware problem? scope pulsar II - i7 6gb RAM

Hello, why this comment is:
I have a Pulsar II, and since I installed XP has become unstable, if I restart and end I have to shut down. Many of the times not just start and he got stuck on the screen of "welcome"
My pc: i7, with 6 GB of RAM and a 150g hard drive 10,000 RPM (Raptor)
I think that you may need to change something in the bios, or maybe take a RAM which can only use at most 4 in XP 32bit.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

No need to remove RAM, XP will just not 'see' ram over 4GB.
Usually if Scope cards are causing an issue it's IRQ related, disable unused devices in the motherboard BIOS to start. If that doesn't clear up teh conflict moving the Scope cards between slots is the next step. Look in Device Manager > View > Resources by Type to see your IRQ sharing issues.

Hi, thanks for answering. I have been looking where he pointed, Device Manager> View> Resources by Type, but not quite understand that I do on this screen. I disabled in the bios that is not used, and comment that I only have the motherboard, DX58SO, a slot in total and is where I punctured the PULSAR II. For what it's worth, when the PC becomes unstable at times leaves a blue screen

that says: Driver corrupted MMPOOL.
Saludos!!

this is a long shot but if your computer is connected to internet/a network, try unplugging it and restart a few times to see if you get stuck.

This is perhaps dependent on BIOS options enabled, as I've got 8GB and haven't ever had any problems and I do a LOT of work under Xp32 still, both graphical/audio (and even gaming.) In fact I don't think I've ever had a BSOD on my current PC, with the original XP install put on here in Jan. 2008.
I would check power readouts, run a ram test utility and other such standard troubleshooting and then move into possible resource conflicts.

hello again, thanks for your comments, I the ram and I only left 2gb of ram and the problem persists. I do not know what to think, maybe the problem is that the Pulsar II audio card be a little outdated with my current system, or perhaps unfortunately is broken.
the fact is that for 6 months working with a card in a system yamaha GO46 xp 64bit, never had any problem, all started from a PULSAR II and XP32bits.
thanks..

The pulsar card may not be compatible with your intel x58 motherboard. Several computer-builders said that the x58 intel motherboards for i7's where not so good with dsp cards. I used a pulsar 2 card with Gigabyte x58 UD4P and it worked fine. However my XITE-1 did not work with the Gigabyte x58 and i had to buy a Asus Rampage x58 Motherboard wich works fine with XITE-1.
Do you have another computer with a different motherboard you can use to test the Pulsar 2 card in to comfirm it works properly? If the Pulsar 2 works fine in another computer then there may be a conflict with the Intel x58 motherboard.
I can test the Asus Rampage with the pulsar 2 if you want me to?

this is a shit, we continue with the same problem. XPSP3 and a new power source 1000 and the problam persists. I guess the motherboard and the driver PULSAR II may not be compatible. must be bored!!!!!

Well, I tried to pulsar II w7 and it seems that problems with windows are gone, the problem is that the dirver is not working, but I see that you have created SONICCORE a driver for sight that Vista to go well in w7. The question is, you can use the driver software 4.5 with the view to w7? (I am awaiting a response from SC)
greetings

v5.0 is the only driver that will work on Win7 32 bit.

Officially supported I believe that's the case, but I could swear there were threads here somewhere on how people had used compatibility settings or signed driver overrides or etc. to get it working under Vista32...
