Guys,
I just purchased a 23" Acer X233BH monitor.
As soon as I installed it and set the resolution to 1600 by 1024 I found that connecting devices (eg ASIO to Mixer) became difficult. The cursor changes to cross hairs and I click, I then go to the destination and get cross hairs and click, but no connection. After many tries I hit the magic spot and the connection is made.
I am using the analog inlut to the screen and I have a second screen (The other is a 19" Dell). I have been using two for a long time now so its not the video card or the way its setup.
Has anyone found this with Higher resolution screens?
Did I buy a cheapie?
I assume its not Scope 5 rc as I have been using it for a while without issue.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Adjust your mouse settings. If you're using the default MS driver and not a driver that came with your mouse (Logitech Setpoint or etc) look under pointer options for 'enhance pointer precision' or something similar. Or just set mouse speed slower.

well, it may not be the pixel resolution, but the color depth.
Are both screens set to the same value ?
I once noticed it when switching from 16 to 32bit (while Scope was running), that the mouse 'hot spot' was displaced.
Scope will (most likely) pick the value from the primary screen and if the other one has a different setting the cursor position is miscalculated.

Astroman, I think you're on the right track the colour depth is different for each screen.
Basically what has happened is as you describe the target point is displaced. Clicking where I have crosshairs does not work but just off to one side does.
I will play with the colour depth a see if it improves things.
I might also do as Valis suggests and play with the mouse precision.
If all fails at least I now know where to click.

It sounded at first like you were having a hard time hitting the right 'spot' in general. But If the connection point is off center then the mouse accel info I gave is probably not the issue, and defer to Tom's suggestion. It's an interesting idea, it's been so long since I used anything but 32bit color depth...

oh yeah, those were the days when you had to consider color depth as a performance issue...

Astroman was right. I backed off the colour depth on the new monitor and all's fine.
Thanks for the great help.
The new monitor gives such good real estate I might upgrade my other one for apps like Cubase/Samplitude etc.
