hi !
I bypassed a problem after many tests / When I copy big files via windows NETWORK (netbios) from my computer to another, my computer freezes after 30 seconde of copy, sometime less / ( and only via network, there's no probleme HD->HD )
And i found that: when i shutdown scope platform . I can finish the copy . there's no problem anymore ...
Have you ever seen that ?
My set up :
scope 4.0
Pulsar II
MB: P5QL
CPU: E8500 / 3.16
many thx

your network connection and Scope card are sharing an irq.
it's be a good idea to disable the port when using Scope, as well. any communication on the network port while working on music can also cause a freeze. another solution would be to try putting the Scope card in another slot.
to check go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information/hardware resources/conflicts sharing and tell me what if anything is sharing an irq with the Scope card.

hello ..
thank you for your answer .
you're right .. they share the same irq ..
even i have 3 things on the same irq
IRQ 17 Intel(R) ICH10 Family PCI Express Root Port 1 - 3A40
IRQ 17 Intel(R) ICH10 Family PCI Express Root Port 5 - 3A48
IRQ 17 Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC
IRQ 17 Creamware Pulsar2
for the onboard hardware .. is it possible to set up manually the irq adress ?
thx again

no, it would be best to try a different slot first, then tell me what, if anything is sharing and i'll tell you what to do next.

Gary, do you think there is any special reason why Scope boards don't like IRQ sharing?
I've just asked myself about that so many times (Luna, Pulsar, 2 scope and now 2 scope again but 2 times GenII)?
Thanks in advance,

well, it's because Scope cards are realtime processors. if they don't get their info in time, it's bad news...

But how so that many other (even DSP) boards are managing that but Scope boards don't?
Maybe I should ask that to some dsp programmers instead
EDIT:what a stupid question. I've answered to myself: latency.

Enjoy!

speaking of strange problems my scope menu's (top left) appear to be pointed in the wrong direction. all my scope gear is missing.
is there an easy fix to get this back on track?
thanks again!
Steve

yes, you accidently moved the 'Device' folder (most likely) into the 'Your_Scope_Folder\App\Bin' directory.
Drag the folder directly under 'Your_Scope_Folder', restart Scope and all will be ok again.
cheers, Tom

'Devices' folder is appearing under 'Scope'.
there is a Devices file under '\App\Bin', i tried moving that & no effect so i moved it back.
here's what i'm looking at.

sure Steve, no problem.
just run the installer over the top of the old install. that should fix it right up.
