if I read holgers announcement well, then I'd say: no. the new drivers that come with scope5 are not backwards compatible.

wihtout knowing anything about it

:
i'm sure it will work if you just install into another folder!
my guess is that the only thing you need to do if you want to go back is to change the driver back to the old one..

open device manager and find your cards, and click "change driver" ( i think its called change driver..) and go to your scope 4.5/driver folder and click the driver.

Here is my first experience with Scope4.5 and Scope5 at the same time on my computer.
After installing S.5 I had to enter the key for S.5 -> haven't them yet.
I tried to start S4.5 -> not possible because the new drivers aren't compatible with S4.5
Changing the drivers in the Windows-Xp-Hardware-Manager -> no effect.
So I stated the S4.5 installer and it prompted me to install the old drivers - i did it without installing
the whole Software 4.5 --> after a restart S4.5 worked again!
So I wait for the keys for S.5
BTW: My Luna wasn't recognized by S5 only Pulsar II and Pulsar XTC

You can do a "go back to previous driver" , it works very fine.
Otherwise, desinstall/reinstall as others said

Also you need to edit your registry to change back to the old ASIO driver.
Well, waiting for my keys. Got a couple of EH Stereo Memory Man w\ Hazarai to entertain me

..

right, old scope 4.5 asio doesn't work anymore (it is in my 4.5 projects but not recognised after scope 5 install. Message "ASIO Scope is not running"...) eventhough i can see it in my apps like usual...
How to revert to scope 4.5 asio in the registry ?

How do you edit the registry ? desinstall scope 5 pci ?
I hope xite can run along scope just the way noah and scope can coexist and run on the same computer (as they use different asio drivers (edit: or are different hardwares).

Search for any instance of "asioscope". Then change the entry tohave the correct path and the correct file name. Note that the new driver is called asioscope.dll while the old one is called asioscop.dll.

This is actually the same procedure you have to do if you install SDK after SFP.
Just run regedt32.

never had to do this in the past.
I can run Scope 4.0, 4.5, SDK, Scope DP and Noah without changing anything (may be i have an old sdk, it is old in fact)...
I can run noah and Scope at the same time, and that's also something really cool

(i just use Scope asio instead of Noah Asio, and that's it, but well , they are completely different hardwares using different connections anyway)..

yeah, the previous driver was indeed old...
I expect those driver exchange problems for all SDK users as well.
time to export the asio registry keys to .reg files and doubleclick them when switching...

I don't know what effect it will have, though for some reason in the systems tab only one of my three cards had the new driver installed. The other were still "Creamware Pulsar 2".
Should be simple to fix though if something happens.

I had a similar issue on a fresh installed XP. the first card got its driver, the second was still an unknown device.
"update driver" did the magic, and I didn't even have to reboot as requested. can't start the application, though. missing key, ya know...
