Impressive XITE benchmark

Post by maky325 »

Screenshot provided by Jimmy (thanks again) :D

Something like this is absolutely impossible to achieve with 3X ScopePRO on best tuned motherboards!!!
This is warp96 FX - high quality FX with very very high quality sound !!!
People this is
3X plate,
3x ambience,
3x chorus (very very intensive DSP usage plugin....really very very intensive plugin)
mixer,
z links
adats
4 Profit 5 each at 6voice poly
And everything at 96khz plus room for another things... :o :o

And you still have 33% left on the ADSP-21369.

Most of these devices is not optimized for the new DSP's.

To me, that is what is impressive the most... :o with room to spare!

seriously i don`t think that is the best example . :D

6 reverb and 4 synths are not that extreme. for sure compared to the old stuff and running at 96khz it is def. impressive.

but well as warp says: optimizations make room for more.

But i think the xite-1 is not overpowered, as more advanced devices may need more power.
and then the overhead in power may very well be eaten up faster. :)
the 96 khz example shows it quite well, its a small step forward in quality and i guess the power is halfen.
Thats why i think oversampling is more economic, as most stuff like mixing doesn`t give you a plus via 96khz.
maybe in future new bigger synths may appear, which need way more power. I don`t mean big in features, but maybe more advanced atoms that consume more dsp ressources. and so on.

for "the old stuff" it has more than enough power.

what i want to say is: i want one!!! :D

I disagree - I think it's quite impressive.

It will of course get better with optimized modules or even custom modules - there will always be an overhead when using a system like SDK with atoms.

But there will come devices in future that would need a lot of power.

Hi Daniel :D Given that for example on three "old" pro cards you simply can not load
2x chorus (i mean warp69 FX),
2x plates,
(without ambience)
and one profit 5 with 6 voice poly
at 96khz (even without additional modules like asio IO or adat modules) i am finding these results pretty impressive IMHO.

Best regards!

The past few posts....have completely disregarded the quantity of IOs loaded too...and at 96khtz????

this IS a monster....a beast that cannot be fed...yet....yes, there will be bigger devices, fx & mixers..but this is really amazing!

i can't wait to get mine!

okay okay, all i wanted to say is:
you can`t have enough power these days.

I`d rather have some "unused" dsp ressources than a bit cheaper xite-1 with lets say 8 dsps instead of 18.

so the platform is equipped for the future (next years).

First thing I may try is to load a Masterverb inserted on as many channels of a 4896 as possible.
Not at all practical, but would adequately show the insanity

so, pop a beer, or two, or three, and see what happens. :o

Greg

p.s. so now who's the YAHOO that's going to design a synth that needs all this DSP?

Alright....this is the last cock measuring post.
But seeings how Greg is a Scope warrioir and has ordered one, I feel it's my duty.
FWIW. I had zero optimizations, it never asked for anything, and I don;t know how to use the big Scope mixers so I double stacked the channels.
I honestly thought I would run out of juice and have to optimize after 16 or so.
But as you see the numbers are accurate.
The first 6 DSP chips are Gen II types. They max out in the Sync column at about 1100 or so.
The 7th - 18th chip max out at Sync numbers around 6800--7000.
So the meter is darn accurate at 27% or so.
I won't ever use 96k or 32 MasterSperbs...
But I will be using lots of FAT BASTARDS.......so those tests, will be fun. But not until I get a few projects ready and do my sampler installs.

I guess this is also a good figure having 32 MV Pro's but keep in mind the RAM on each chip is 64MB, so this test is making me yawn..............I could probably do 100 but who really gives a damn about that ?..........I have great mixes already with 6 Plates in the channels, and the DAS 5.1, SC 5.1, and the Ambience as my AUX Verbs.
Each verb has it's own character and I can honestly say when I close my eyes which one I am listening to. They are very detailed for being old DSP verbs.
It;s the new ones that take advantage of the RAM and are made for the XITE-1 that I am feverish for.
But 32 channels of synths and samplers using 3 AUX and 6 stereo channel inserts is plenty for my needs.

Here, Ya need some of these FAT BASTARDS ...?
Here's the first sign of a gagger.
I would load 4 at a time and raise their poly to 4, then move on and repeat.
You can imagine my surprise when finally at 12 of these FAT BASTARDS it asks for a little help.
This thing is insane.
I said no more cock measuring, but these are like giant beautiful Chi-Chi's...
