XTC mode suddenly stopped working :o|

I've got to be quick as I'm in an Internet café, but here's a run down of my story...
1) Everything was working fine for months and months
2) Loaded Cubase 5 this afternoon and it came up with an error instead of the XTC logo. The error said "Cannot load application, command line missing" or something very similar to that.
3) Another error comes up, same as in this guy's post (basically moaning about SFP mode not being active): http://forums.planetz.com/download/file.php?id=3828
4) Once Cubase finally loads, the samplerate is wrong, I can't change the clock source (it's greyed out) or go to the control panel (clicking does nothing) and my ADAT / A16 connections aren't there! Basically XTC mode is off.
I've inspected files and settings and directories and the XTCProject.pro, but my knowledge of how the SCOPE thing works is not too hot. I also opened the computer and checked all connections, but next I'm going to try taking the card out and putting it back in. Any help would be massively appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
