Nuendo and SFP 3.1C

If there are any Nuendo users that can send me a screen shot or a Project template using a 32 ch mixer in Scope and integrating the audio to the ASIO inputs into Nuendo? I have 16 ADAT inputs that I am having trouble routing my hardware synths into Nuendo as audio tracks too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Believe it or not, I've been sequencing in Master Tracks Pro for 20 years (you can stop laughing now) and have not switched. Now w/ audio & MIDI tracks, VSTs, external synths etc etc...I am going to bite the bullet & switch to Nuendo.

Thanking you in advance...

Joel

If you're going to route the audio into Nuendo then you probably don't need a mixer inline first (you can always route back OUT of nuendo to a Scope mixer if you want to mix in scope after you've recorded & arranged). Simply connect your ADAT Source modules directly to the ASIO Dest module you're using.

Should I do the same with devices? synths, sample players....skip the Scope mixer & route them directly to ASIO in to send the signal directly into nuendo. I really don't care which mixer I use...I just need to get the devices & ADAT ins to drop the audio into Nuendo.

Thanx man..

no laugh here, but my respect :D

you misunderstood Valis - you can use Nuendo without Nuendo's internal mixer, assuming you're more familiar with the Scope mixer.
the Asio in and out modules are all it needs, it's really simple...

cheers, Tom

i think you should use the Scope mixer. by monitoring EVERYTHING from the same central location, you have the most logical routing jump-off point, as well as eliminating latency as an issue.

in this way, the sequencer is a multitrack recorder in your bigger studio(Scope is the virtual room your hardware and software is in), as though it were a vs880 or similar hardware recorder that happens to have a built-in mixer.

I really need a screen shot from someone's Project & I'll be fine....The routing from Scope to Nuendo (32 tracks) and visa versa. I am used to the Scope mixer, so GaryB....I'm actually more comfortable using it. Got my BCF & BCR working just fine on the Scope Mixer...re-doing everything for Nuendo Mixer, I think would rank right up there with root canals & enimas..

THANX GUYS!!!

Actually, there's half a dozen ways to do this. It's really down to whatever you're most comfortable with in terms of workflow. Where you want your flexibility, monitoring & mixing to happen. Why not begin by giving us your current method for arranging & recording your synths?

After looking through all of my mixers, ADAT IOs, and ASIO devices in SFP 3.1c w/ mix & master 1...the reason I can't get my config to work, because I don't even have the right freakin' Scope mixer. I am such a douche. Just call me Massengill, Summer's Eve...take your choice, I deserve it.

I need 16 stereo ins for Scope devices & sample players, 16 stereo ASIO tracks to and from Nuendo & Scope, and 16 channels of ADAT IO for my ADA8000 (hardware synths) into Nuendo & back to the Scope Mixer.

I've been routing all my hardware synths into my (2) MX9000 consoles, and running the stereo out of the Pulsar II card into the MX9000, and after that, running a stereo mix, into a Tascam DA-30 DAT (once again, you can stop laughing now) and slamming it all down on 1 take. no vocals, just shit loads of samples & synths, vocal loops of me guitar loops, etc etc etc. I just do the primitive, angry white boy industrial stuff, and have not had the need or desire to do more until now.
(just a reminder...Master Track Pro on an ATARI ST, MEGA 4 ST, Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, XP for 20 years) Now I have so much gear...I'm having a tough time getting everything to just route correctly...Scope 4.5?...5.0?...

I beg for your fogiveness...

Humbly Joel

Hi Noel!

I work with Nuendo sometimes and sometimes with Cubase SX.

With Nuendo I had problems with installing a dvd ripper. I wanted to change th music of film and had to convert the video! After installing the DVD-Ripper I was not able to open a few projects in NUENDO. ???. But for luck I could open them in SX and so the problem was gone.

But after changing from LOGIC to CUBASE I could say it all worked fine and has mostly more then I was able to put in.
Nuendo works fine except same bad behavior with video and after crashes maybe once per year!

Sounds like your Nuendo problems are related to codec issues. CCCP has a testing tool that shows what codecs are installed insurgent that may be of use, if you can make sense out of what codecs Nuendo is expecting.

Thanks valis!!

yes I think so too.
I' ve been through so many problems and somehow I managed them all with the help of PLANETZ or try error / googling etc....!
But after the years I got lazy in finding out what Sh.... is going on in a windows machine. I wanna do music!! But always something going on. No I got 965P with DUALCORE 2,4GH and the machines freezes without any repeatable error every once in a while - but thats another thread!!!

Thanks a lot
