Now my question is, are pirates atheists, and if so, do they believe in god?

A few years ago I used to think I was an Atheist, but that was before I knew what the word meant. ... There should be a new ism or something for fence sitters like me that are happy to neither be a believer or disbeliever. Let everyone believe exactly what they want I say, since it probably brings universal balance anyway.

well, they often call that "agnostic", but i don't think that covers those who believe in God, but not any of the religions that claim to represent....
