Sonic Core ASIO patch

What exactly is that ASIO patch supposed to fix? Is it only for Cubase users and if so, why? What was the deal with that?

Sorry - I read some of the earlier posts on the subject - still not sure what it's supposed to solve but it apparently has nothing to do with anything but Cubase, right?

Patch for ASIO SCOPE with Cubase 4.1,
Operating System: WINDOWS XP only!

This patch solves the problem of using SCOPE with
Cubase 4.1 at other sample rates than 44.1 kHz.

Please do the following:
- Exit the SCOPE and CUBASE programs
- Copy the file asioScop.dll to the directory
/App/Bin/ inside you SCOPE installation,
i.e. "C:/SCOPE4/App/Bin/"
(Replace the existing file asioScop.dll when copying)
- Reboot your computer

Patch für ASIO SCOPE unter Cubase 4.1,
Betriebssystem: WINDOWS XP only!

Dieses Patch löst das Problem, dass SCOPE zusammen
mit Cubase 4.1 nur mit einer Samplerate von 44.1 kHz
betrieben werden kann.

Bitte gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
- Beenden Sie die Programme SCOPE und CUBASE
- Kopieren Sie die Datei asioScop.dll in das
Verzeichnis /App/Bin/ Ihrer SCOPE-Installation,
also z.B. "C:/SCOPE4/App/Bin/"
(Die in diesem Verzeichnis vorhandene Datei
asioScop.dll muss dabei überschrieben werden)
- Starten Sie den Rechner neu.
