Large JPEG

I wanted to show a member an example of the Dually's power.

I have seen 3 cards that operate identically.

They allow more content than other cards.

Dual MIDI, Dual ADAT Type II's.

Rare, but extremely powerful as they allow redlighted DSP meters.

Never needing to optimize more than once.

My brand new AES/EBU card chokes and cannot allow the last 14 plugs.

Dynamixer can be shrunk in size by deleting it's name. Nice for large loads.

BTW, the FAT-Mixer GC-S has effects in it's inserts as well. I used 6 other unviewable plugs.

34 plug ins...... :o This could be from the larger anount of MVPro's allowed by the DP35DP.

I believe it's the card plus the P35 together that allow such ridiculous loads. :)

Of the 18 different Scope cards I have used,

3 Project, 3 Pro Dually's, 10 Classic Pro's, and 2 AES/EBU Pro's. The Dually's rule.

Those Dogs Will Hunt.

that is a large project indeed!!!

but what is a "dually"?
:-?

T

(edit - re-reading the post, I assume a "dually" is a Scope card with 2xADAT and 2x MIDI. Is it the same as the Scope Pro Plus (XLR connections)?)

It's exactly the same board, but the Dually's seem to load and recall larger loads. The same projects re loaded onto the AES/EBU or Classic cards forced me to delete several Modulation plugs and lower Flexor's already maxxed out 4 voice polyphony to 3 voices on each instance.

I wish I would have discovered this a couple years ago. I always liked these boards because of the extra I/O's. 16 MIDI channels for ASIO and 16 for Scope synths and mixers spoiled me, and caused me to re think my future projects using a single hardware I/O.

Yes, same question here Jimmy.
What is a dually??

They seem to be rare, but were the cards w/ 2 x ADAT, and 2 x MIDI hardware I/O's.

Great for guys w/ 2 x Controllers where one could be 16 MIDI channels for Scope MIDI A ( GSIF ), and another controller could use Scope MIDI B ( CW / SC ) for 16 more and a total of 32 channels simultaneously.

But they seem to load in the red, and save / recalls of large projects require no Optimaztion, only once during the build. I can achieve 1 more voice of polyphony per Flexor III patch x 4 instances, one more MVPro, and 8 - 12 stock plugs. Didn't ever really noticed until I had time to make comparisons. They are Type II only I believe, and must not have sold as well, hence their legacy status.

3 sets of adat..

it's a type 1 Scope SP board he's talking about, i think. i don't know if the 24 adat i/o plate on a current board will have the same effect. it may, others can confirm or....

if its a type 1 board, then does it suffer with the longer latencies.....

I thought it was the type two boards only that had low ulli

true, as i remember those boards....they use the same type of i/o plate as the later boards. i don't know if his results were because of the i/o plate or the card itself...

Stardust, if ya use only that board, dya get the low ulli.

that would confirm whether its the card or the I/O that determine the 'type'

stardust wrote:Thta would be interesting since I changed my 2nd gen board I/O to a ADAT I/O apparently from 1st gen then. So do I have a 1st gen now ?
no, the 1st gen cards were longer....

does your card load better with the 24 adat plate?

I have two type 1 + pulsar2 in my system.
I am indeed able to load projects well into the redbars....

am also using a P35DP.
