Plugins and their models

There are so many plugins out now and more to come but i would just like to know ,for instance about which EQ or compressor is modelled on what type or if they have fresh algorithms.
Used DAS's N1084EQ and it had an airy PSycho Acoustic EQ type feel to it.
Would be good if someone could clear this all up so we know where we stand and how we can apply them correctly.
Reverbs would help too.
