That's an interesting question.
But I think it's probably not as recommended idea as it might appear to be.
A *lot* of what Windows Server OS has to do with is ACTIVE DIRECTORY. Since it is a live database with thousands of settings, it can really hit your system hard when it is doing its thing.
I think XP versions are really what we need to deal with for Scope. (PS, I've been testing Vista in a lot of ways for quite a while now, and it can be a real dog at times.)

Yes it works. I use server 2003 because it uses less memory than windows xp.

That's kind of cool to know.
I'd be curious how the software installs and compatability have worked out there. Might be a very sneaky way to get better reliability than XP.

ehhmm...

I have made the question, hoping that the answer was positive, for being able to use the 4G of RAM that with XP I cannot take advantage of.
Now, I ask myself if Cubase SX3 or 4 run with the same OS.

Did you give the /PAE boot extension a try for Windows XP?
I know there is also some 3GB switch that might also help some applications get more memory, but not sure how these two interact.

Yes, I did it. Unfortunately, the best that XP can see are 3,240 GB.
So I thought to Windows Server 2003 that should not have problems to give me 4G with the PAE function. But I do not know whether Cubase SX3 or Cubase 4 work seamlessly with that OS.
