Hi all!
I have a pulsar 2 and I want to add a luna 2.
What is the correct procedure to install the second card?
Do I need to install drivers? Do I need to reinstall Scope?
I was looking for a S/TDM cable... But I don't have the manual that shows
how to connect the two cards with this cable... How do it?
Many thanks

Hi.You should be fine with just pluggin in the luna,no need to reinstall anything.
The stdm connectors you see on both cards(the p2 has2 the luna has1) Are on the "upside " of the cards.I suggest using the first and last connector on the cable and leave the middleone,this way the connection will be way easier.
Hope that helps.

that's correct, but there is no option which connectors to choose:
you have to use the outer ones, leaving the center connector empty.
otherwise the S/TDM bus will not work properly due to electrical interference on the cable.

I don't see any card specific driver - since version 3 there are only 'Scope'-files
the difference is just in the supplied (bundle) software

well than sorry wrong century . .
the automatic driverinstall of xp demaged my brain_
i could swear it popped up each time i plugin a new (2nd or 3rd) card asking for driver;
but after a while you know, you dont read anymore just push yes yes verify off and yes -> the pain of automation_
good vibes

well, the driver is the same, but different cards have different pci identifier strings, and they even vary from hw revision to hw revision of the same board class (well this seems to apply to the 3 dsp boards). so if you add a board, you will almost always be prompted to supply a driver, even if it's the same inf file and the same dlls you provide. you will also notice that different cards will be named different in the device manager. a scope is a scope, and others a labelled different, even generic:
[Creamware]
%Scope.DeviceDesc%=Scope, PCI\VEN_14B5&DEV_0200
%Pulsar.DeviceDesc%=Scope, PCI\VEN_14B5&DEV_0300
%PulsarSRB.DeviceDesc%=Scope, PCI\VEN_14B5&DEV_0400
%Pulsar2.DeviceDesc%=Scope, PCI\VEN_14B5&DEV_0600
%Elupo.DeviceDesc%=Scope, PCI\VEN_14B5&DEV_0800
%Elupo.DeviceDesc%=Scope, PCI\VEN_14B5&DEV_0900
%Elupo.DeviceDesc%=Scope, PCI\VEN_14B5&DEV_0a00
%Elupo.DeviceDesc%=Scope, PCI\VEN_14B5&DEV_0b00
and
Scope.DeviceDesc="Creamware Scope"
Pulsar.DeviceDesc="Creamware Pulsar"
Pulsar2.DeviceDesc="Creamware Pulsar2"
PulsarSRB.DeviceDesc="Creamware PulsarSRB"
Elupo.DeviceDesc="Creamware DSP-Board"
so a luna2 added to a powersampler will most likely result in a "add driver" dialog window, since they have different pci ids.
-greetings, markus-
ps: information above taken from the scope 4.5 driver inf file. so that's no old stuff I'm talking about

Hi all!
Many many... super many thanks for your promptly replies... very useful...
But If my second card has more actived plug-ins I think that Scope should be reinstalled... What do you think? But this is not the problem....
Now I have to choose between a Luna 2 and Pulsar 2 to add to my Scope system.
One terrible thing about the Pulser is the absence of phones out...
Many thanks.

you can always just run the installer again(without uninstalling). the new stuff will be updated, but your old devices, projects and presets will remain, though it's always a good idea to back those things up(vxd and dsp files as well) just in case....
