Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei-
Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei drauf

Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei-
Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei drauf

Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei-
Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei drauf

Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei-
Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei drauf

Amoklauf, Amoklauf, Menschenleben gehen dabei-
drauf..

"I Don't Like Mondays"

by The Boomtown Rats

The silicon chip inside her head
gets switched to overload
and nobody's gonna go to school today
she's gonna make them stay at home
And Daddy doesn't understand it
He always said she was good as gold
And he can see no reason
Cos there are no reasons
What reasons do you need to be shown

[Chorus:]
Tell me why
I don't like Mondays
I want to shoot
The whole day down

The telex machine is kept so clean
and it types to waiting world.
And Mother feels so shocked
Father's world is rocked
And their thoughts turn to
Their own little girl
Sweet 16 ain't that peachy keen
No it ain't so neat to admit defeat,
They can see no reasons
Cos there are no reasons
What reasons do you need to be shown

[Repeat Chorus]

All the playing's stopped in the playground now
She wants to play with her toys awhile
And school's out early and soon we'll be learning
That the lesson today is how to die
And then the bullhorn crackles
And the captain tackles
With the problems and the how's and why's
And he can see no reasons
Cos there are no reasons
What reasons do you need to die

[Repeat Chorus]

there's more of that coming.

in the USA, a well known TV political analyst said that Ron Paul supporters are mostly terrorists who want to destroy the government(Ron Paul is a constitutionalist) and should be handled by the military....welcome to the new fascism, thought-crimes and everything.

the lyrics style is rather narrative, there's no real gloryfying (except that it rhymes...)
imho it's a spot on document of the times, of feelings, phantasies, inspired by everyday news stuff

but one never knows what the lawyers know
you dunno if it's intentionally scandal provoking for publicities sake or not

cheers, Tom

intentional scandal is always a possibility.... :)

people should not be jailed for thoughts or ideas, no matter how repulsive. jailed for acting on those thoughts might be another matter.......

a perfect example of runaway political correctness, even though "ho, ho, ho" is traditionally satan's signature laugh....

Along similar lines the first 2 years of Sesame Street released on DVD were found to be unsuitable for consumption of children due to things like Oscar The Grouch living in a 'trash can' and 'having a pipe in his mouth which is used for smoking' (which he swallows accidentally I think).

Valis, you reminded of The Magic Roundabout & in later years, another brittish one called Rainbow. Two programs supposedly for young kids that should never have slipped through the sensors. I guess people were too off their heads to notice the content.

well i was actually wondering what sentence they got. im not a topic police, but are they actually convicted for something or is the title just a major exaggeration, like it really should be "lyrics some people find provocative".
