HI... do you know of any problems using a version 1 card together with a version 2 card?
I get the latency of a version 1 card, even though i use a version 2 card in the same pc, right?
any xtc mode or normal sfp mode problems?
thanks!

I'm on mac, no XTC support on OS9...
I don't have a type 1 card, but the subject is often discussed on a site called planetZ

so I wouldnt be able to load as many devices?? that means that basically, if the version 1 card has 15 dsp, I wont be able to use all of them??

PCI bandwidth refers to the interaction with the native processor, it doesn't say anything about the DSP capacity.
Reverb, delay, mouse and gui actions and samplers cause PCI traffic, type 1 cards do this a little less better than type two cards, according to Stardust

it'd probably be just fine. currently, my main machine has type2 15dsp and pulsar1 and pulsar1 srb cards. i have no troubles with it, and since i use it mainly for recording and mixing, pci traffic has not been an issue. fepending on what plugins you actually use, you may or may never have problems. the type1 does not load big projects as well as the type2, although the difference is not huge, the newer cards just work a little better, and the type1 won't load massive numbers of reverbs or delays like the type2, but it will load enough traffic for a normal mix. for some heavy-duty synths like solaris, you'll want the later card's performance, but a mix of the two WILL work.
if given a choice, take the newer card. if it's really a matter of money, the old card will definitely help and will provide lot's of extra dsps, which is always nice...

Then I guess my Pulsar 1 or Pulsar 1 SRB was faulty because I had horrible issues until I removed them.

some of the newer motherboards don't seem to work well with the p1s, but for the most part, they haven't given me troubles. i'm sure that the style of use is a possible factor. well, that's why i said probably at first....
thanks
