Multiple DAWs & Layered Synths & 32Midi Channels

Am updating my setup like mad!!! Not wanting to hit too many walls of surprises I figured I'd pick some more minds on Z.

If all goes well soon I will have the follow cards (dont hate me, yet) :
1x pulsar1 (v1)
1x pulsar1 srb (v1)
1x pulsar2 (v2)
1x scope (v1)
1x scope srb (v1)
1x scope (v2)
1x scope srb (v2)

I think this should be enough for the time being, dont you ? I dont even have the money to put all cards in decent machines, but thats future music

There are alot of things to concider! How to connect all machines, how to devide the cards, how to handle latency, ........

The idea is this:
1x 30DSP (v1) Mixing System
1x 30DSP (v2) Synth System
1x 14DSP (v1/v2) Modular System

The mixing system will run the sequencer and send midi to the other boxes, which will send the output with ADAT back to the mixer!! Sounds very cool to me 8)

What do I want to load on the synth system :
Prodessey
Minimax
Pro12
SixString
B2003

Those puppies will do for now! Pro12 will probably get replaced for ProWav when I get it. For the prodessey & minimax & Pro12 I want 8 to 12 voices for each synth. B2003 & SixString will get along with 4 to 8 voices!

Will that load ? Can I get even close ? I dont have the v2 30DSP system yet
so I can test :( and my v1 36DSP needs to be reinstalled and reconnected...

What about Midi ? I think I will need more dedicated controllers and will use seperate _and_ shared midi channels for the synths (midi merge), that way I can still send the individual synths seperate singals, but still have them all play the same sequence!!!

Its all good! Onwards :D

Yes The Scope Ship Enterprise

Last night I was pumping old meloldies through
Pro-12 MiniMax Prodessey 8 voices and
b2003 & sixstring for some extra ambiance......

MAN!!!! So phat..... I cant believe it. Of course Alfonso unionson
device is absolutly required for this! It adds so much.....

I order you all to start layering synths and use the unionson module

Oh ? I am the only one here who hasnt been doing it yet :o

Yes most likely! I havent been Powered By DAS(tm) yet! I am sure it will
be another "cheat code" just like all the other amazing devices I have
discovered in Scope :P We really need a "disable all SFX" button so we
can tease people who come and listen in the studio

I think we should have t-shirts! Powered By and include all the logos :)
(Scope/Adern/Spacef/DAS/Zarg/.....)

I want posters too.... and flags!!! damnit. What else would I wear/hang in my so called living room studio :P

MB4-32: groups and effect terminal. full midi remote control, pretty light.
this one is the 32 stereo group-inputs + 4 stereo ins + 4 aux + modulation ability.
You connect it to the mixer's direct outs in general (that's why the MB4 has only stereo ins, as dircet outs from mono channels is generally stereo, ie, panned). If you connect it to a FP Mixer, you immediately get 6 true groups + 1 individual (from rec channel) ie 7 groups (+1 still available). One could directly use the aux as groups from mixers, which adds 4 groups. The 6 groups above are generally enough and the 4 aux is often enough too, but it is not bad to know that it can become a 14 groups/rec channels if needed.
Comes in 32/24/16 group inputs.
More commonly in electronic music, the 4 groups can be used for modulate mixing and full effect center (aux are directrly accessible to mixers).

There is another module that adds 3 post aux too. You can load it in a project and it integrate easily in the modular mixing system. You call it up using the remote panels buttons (p1, p2 etc, that show/hide other devices).

For synths, there is a small, simple, 3 part multitimbral synth (ie, same or different midi channels). 3 is the max for screen size (but 16 is technically possible). For the moment you need the BlackBox Osc&Filters though.
