Hi,
wanna hear some impressions about plugs like poltec etc.
Would be cool if you can compare this one and UAD-pultec or the URS' ones.

DynaPara is worth the price of the bundle by itself.
You should break into the vault quickly before the sale is over.

JS,
I have a UAD card that includes the Pultec EQP-1A & Pultec Pro. DAS Polteq compares well with it imparting a slightly thicker colour. UAD Pultecs have a lovely, airy top end. UAD Pultecs are excellent. I also have just got the DAS Vintage EQ suite in their soon to be closing summer sale. At 99 euros for 3 plugs it was a must have for me. UAD Neve EQ products are $249 each and very they nice are too. I spent a long time A/B'ing the UAD plugs with their DAS equivalents and they both sound good to me although there is no UAD API EQ plug. DAS API is sweet. My Klein & Hummel 0300D monitors tell all. Also they have different sonic qualities which can only be evaluated by listening. Both DAS and UAD can be demoed. It's just a matter of what you like the sound of personally. I use the UAD Neve 88RS Channel Strip a lot and really like it but it also very handy to have the DAS SL9000 strip which has a totally different sound and usage possibilities with Scope environment. DAS Neve plug has great bottom end.
Horses for courses.

If you want a DAS eq I wouldn't choose the Poltek.
It sounds exactly the same as the stock 4EQ (which sounds perfect already), which it's built of.
But it has a fifth band, and the GUI is a huge improvement compared to the stock one, so if this is worth the price for you then it's fine.

Merci,
cannot enter in this sale because i haven't a scope card.
But i am searching for reasons to buy one.
But the main reason why i think twice is the cards haven't enough power for me.
What does a poltec or dynapara need of dsp-power?

the boards have plenty of power. what can be done for 40,000 in pro tools hd costs about $2000. a project will do plenty of channels of eq. a professional and project card is enough to do a whole mix; mixers, eqs, delay, reverb, compressors.......

I use 2 x DAS EQ's in a current mix, both are awesome examples of quality workmanship. They were made that so a person who was use to the particular hardware can easily become re familiar.
I don't know if the DynaPara ever had a hardware version, but if it did it would be rather expensive, and I still would have bought it.
I don't care much for synths being EQ'd but the Poltec makes ProWave get a woody.

Thanky,
So the poltec isn't just a re-gui-ded version of existing eqs for scope boards?
So how many DAS-EQs can you load with a professional-card? (14 DSPs i guess)

well, some may disagree, but a decent phase canceling test done in the past by a classified forum member (and confirmed by me) has proven it is true yet

I could send you the test if you really want (it's deleted for certain reasons from the involved thread, but I have a streight copy of that post).
Sorry, just informing you the truth

It doesn't say the plugin is bad or you shouldn't buy it.

you're just confusing JohnySun by this link, and it definitely won't serve the interests of Das.
I could easily post a lot of other links, making clear what was going on then, but I don't really want that.
The link is also confusing because the poster of the original test deleted his posts after he got theatened by DAS with legal actions.
With this link of you you are just inviting me to make things clear again to any newcomer.
Which is not what I'm after in the first place.
I could always post the test (on my own name) on planetz, if any of you would like to test the test...
Let's not go this way tho

cheers.

as does the Poltek...
not according to Mccy

Cmon now hubrid, ...even Mccy has said the Poltek is not a Peq4, he 'saw' into the design and said there is more going on than he thought, so why continue the drama?

that's exactly the point of my words in my post above, Wired:
I said:

You would have a point if MCC made his 'totally devoted confession' in freedom...but that didn't believe anyone here

Poor MCC, he just couldn't take the risk.
Therefor, that link makes
me looking like a lousy liar, as new members might draw the same conclusion as you do from MCC's 'confession'.
Do you get that logical thought?
A second thing I'd like to mention here is that I myself did that (initial) test for one band of the Poltek.
If for some reason the setup in my studio during the test suddenly had been failed, people in the whole flat block would have rolled out of their beds, as I had the volume on it's max...the silence was complete however.
Cancelation of the other three (mid) bands was not 100%, but the reason for that was clearly documented and subscribed to natural difficulties to equal knob positions (not being at the 'end' positions).
As you know, a minimal deviation (far behind decimals) is enough to reduce total cancelation with tenths of decibells.
Still the result was convincing and far in the non-audible range, so this was enough for the conclusion that both eq's actually sound the same.
That was probably also the reason that at a certain point in the discussions at the time, Das let Creamware take away Das's own description of the plugin on the CW site, saying that the plugin had 'a unique and special sound'.
Das' ultimate reply saying that there's also something like the
character of the sound was hilarious of course, if you know the character of phase cancelation...
You forced me to repeat this old story.
I repeat, there's no reason in terms of quality not to buy the plugin.
I just inform people like JonnySun who are litteraly asking for information and impressions of the Poltek.
Which is a streight function of an internet forum like Planetz

cheers.
(who's Hubrid btw.?).
