Advice please!!!

Post by computercontrolled »

i have a luna card with spf 4.0 no synths at all, i havent upgraded beacuse of the lack of dsp power., i have the chance to get a scope 2 xtc new for a good price (300 usd) quite heap in mexico. So far i now i can conect them and use them as 1 card right? so getting this xtc card and the luna i have i would get 9 dsp's. the xtc card has some synths so i would be able to taste creamware lovely synths, my main questions is that is it too difficult to use the cards as one (chain them)? i would need and allkeys file for both cards in one single file? in quite nood regarding creamware i would appreciate some patience and help i must hurry if i want to get it, there no more creamware selleres here tahts why is so cheap.

thanks..ok so i get the xtc card, chain in with luna via stdm cable, then transfer the plug ins that come with xtc (includes some synths) to the luna SPF right? does the transfer have some price? it it has , why? the main reason to buy the card it's because i can get more dsp's and some synths.

Transfer costs €55. Why? Because someone has to do some work to do this - it's not automated. Check first that there aren't some other deals (like upgrading to 4.5) that may work out better value. However, i can't recall now but you may be able to use the plugins from the new card without transferring them - try it first.

no need to transfer, just paste the keyfile that belongs to the XTC below (or above) your own. It's a plain text collection of board serial numbers and keys, nothing special about it - or use the import procedure when SFP requests the keys.

cheers, tom

Astroman is right, there is no need to transfer anything, any plugin registered to one card or the other will work. Linking 2 cards is easy, I think you'll be quite happy you did upgrade you cw rig!

yes gathering several boards means one "big" board at the end. Remember you can do this with 3 boards so it becomes important when you have already 2. You will find out that sooner or later you will want a 15 dsp one :D ....

Have fun !
