In your experience, which is the most transparent eq for scope?

Hello Eliam,

the answer to that question within Scope enviroment is most certainly, the 'standard' Creamware EQs (which don't deserve the label 'standard') !!

hey Shroomz, thanks for the reply! Well, did you try the other ones and compared them with the stock eq? I mean, ison, bx, wolf's, etc?

I use the standard eqs but I don't find them so transparent, even compared to 'some' native eqs. I'm after something that will affect as little as possible the phase relations in the signal... In some cases I like to have some phase smearing to add some color, but not every time...

Hi Olive, thanks for the proposal, but I'll refrain from dealing with das for the ethical reasons that most of us know... I have no desire to reopen this debate... Your plug-ins do look awesome though, I wish you success.

Similar to the new proposal of new hot dogs @ Dodger stadium.

The current hot dogs have the best taste, but are made from pigs who are inhumanely treated ( supposedly ).

The maker Farmer John has given the Pigs larger cages, and the Animal Rights Activists still say that this is too little too late, as they eat a brand which is generic, and equally priced.

The other 98 % of the Dodger fans eat the Farmer Johns brand as it tastes better.

The poor bastards that have to get booed by the crowds as they yell to buy their brand really have a shitty job, and by the time they find someone who wants the ethically made dogs, they are as cold as the mustard they are served with.

I suppose ethically recorded music would just need a little more tweaking though to get that desired sound.

An Interseting Concept,

Jimmy - man you obviously make a good living out of music but if you are ever stuck for a career change I definately think you should consider satire :)

ISON is also neglected for other reasons than it's sound... :D
a true pity as Simon explains the concept in such a focussed and unpretentive way, and probably even that is missed because of the hard-to-read typing

yes, lke Celmo's plugins... What a pity ! Many people are asking for awsome GUI ... as screens are replacing hardware ! Even if we just ear sound, when mixing we also use our eyes so ...

Ison looks pretty nice, I'll try the demo and hear for myself.

Jimmy, I don't ask you to agree, and I'm a vegetarian, for ethical as well as health concerns, so your hot dog example is irrelevant for me! Hehe, I'm joking but I'm at peace with my choices! All the best!

i know you have good ears for the ssl sound, ...i liked duende's also, ...i wonder what the eq your making will sound like using script?, another device that ssl made was a drumstrip, but the only thing good on that was the low frequency enhancer, which added 2nd and 3rd harmonics to make kicks very fat on the bottom end. , and a high freq enhancer to do the same on the hi's, psy Q cannot compare.

Hi eliam,

Yes, I've compared several of the 3rd party EQs with standard Scope EQs & my personal preference from all of the 3rd party DP guys' work in EQs is Spectrum from Wolf & ISON from de-vice. JB, Adern & Spacef plugs should also be heard if you're into filters.

The stock Creamware EQs were originally designed for professional standard mixing & mastering applications. Custom filters (&EQs) are within the reach of anyone with the sdk, time & will, but that doesn't mean that any new custom filters will be more transparent than Creamware's originals.

regards,
Shroomz
