that would be something...if (indeed) total height won't spoil the party

you can screw the low profile plate away, but you won`t be able to close your case....
so casemodding is needed

using a micro-atx board in a tower case (to lock the card with screws) and using a converter with ribbon cable to the pci socket would do the trick

Interesting. Q1: does it work? Q2: can you do 2 cards, STDM or huh?

the link posted is to a babelfish translated page....
the first sentence cracked me up.
""" Withstanding the environment where the super cow ranch is harsh, it returned!"""
My PC does not have the super cow ranch. Can I still use this product?

They make riser cards for 3 x PCI's, full length that sit @ a 90 degree angle to the top of the motherboard. My friend has a 2 card Luna set up in a 2U rackmount that uses the Pentium M780 OC'd like a mofo. It's a low heat, kick ass Gigastudio 160 / SFP DAW. He has used this for years at the video archiving / recording studio he works at.
He uses a riser card that has 2 x PCI 32bit Luna's, and a 32bit Net Cell RAID 3 card that streams massive amounts of data from a 6 x 150GB 10k rpm RAID 3 array. All of this fits in a 2U custom rackmounted DAW that he put together. He is the guy who got me interested in the Nord Modular, ajnd Creamware back in '99. After 6 years of him pestering me to buy some cards and quit touring as much, I finally listened. He is the guy who just nailed 150 jingles to do. I guess that our little demo using Bowen's synths w/ the WAV Oscillators and Kyma waveforms / FX did the trick.
Do a google search for riser cards w/ Supermicro P4SCT+II motherboard, you should find something. I use the same mobo in the Hussie's DAW. And that's after I did 14 months of tour dates. They have had it for a year now, and it has never crashed once. The DAS monitor / mixer is running all of the wireless Sennheisers along with the 6 x UE Pro 10 wireless ear monitors. That DAW has made me 120,000 cash in the last 26 months !! You wanna talk about hunting DAWg's, or poodles? I won't own a DAWg that can't hunt.
GaryB is flying up here next week to put new CPU's in, and teach me some recording tricks w/ Cubase 4. I will let you know how the new quad core CPU's work w/ Scope and Cubase w/ GVI. Hopefully I can play in dives for shitty money, and put together another " Vegas Show Band " using C4, SFP, and some of those little Klangboxes. All I know is that my hardware sequencers LCD's are getting so hard to read due to my poor eyesight when I drink Jaeger. I have to stop drinking it, or learn Cubase. I prefer the latter. And yes, my new truck has the windshield washer fluid container full of Jaeger that gets routed to my ashtray inside the truck where frozen shot glasses await. I just turn on my windsheid wiper washers and the shots come through to the ashtray. That's right, all of the routing that Scope can do carries over into other important areas as well.

Actually, poodles were bred for hunting!

righty, right... but you may have noticed that such risers (as with the Supermicro) usually have small connectors attached that 'steal' some signals from the original slot, probably the IRQ and alike.
Regarding Scope I'd guess that it might(?) work if the 'main' card takes the 'directly connected' seat, but I'm really not sure if the other cards would even be visible to the OS/Bios.
Those risers are made for specific backsides of cases (the vertical position of the 'opening'). This position would move up by the PCIe-PCI converter.
On the other hand (since no matching box exists anyway), casebuilders might take this into account for future realeases.
I also appreciate the product, but find the attention it gets a bit strange.
There will be no lack for quality boards
with PCI slots for any foreseeable time.
Don't tell me someone will plug in $3k worth of DSPs and bother about $100 difference for the mobo, even more as 'industrial strength' boards will be better quality than mass market anyway.
There may be hopes for an increased bandwidth, but since this thing is for a PCIe 1x slot (whatever that means) I wouldn't hold my breath on it
cheers, Tom
btw another link mentioned release in August for $43

Agreed Brotha' Man Astro,
For those of us who are unaware, Intel is using " old technology " from the 1.4GHz 512k L2 cached PIII Tualatins, to make all of the new CPU's. My partners OC'd M780 smokes everything up unto the E6600, and the new Quad cores. His old tech DAW ( I prefer calling it " mature " ), is from the same Tualtin architechture, as is the Israeli Intel Yonah, and all of the current Intel Duo's, and Quad's. So even Intel is using old tech, just like us Pulsarians do. So what if it ain't the newest and best. The PIII Tualatins logic is what we are now using in the ER series, and QX series as well. So IMHO anyone using " old tech ", is actually quite hip, as they don't get caught up in the race of the latest and greatest.
Brotha' Man HiFiBoom,
When I make a rare appearance to see my bitches, ( The Hussies ), employees who don't know me, think I am a pimp. I just take the girls out to the valet for a couple of cheap, cold shots. When I come back inside, the bull shit is usually so deep, I need wings to stay above it. I have to do a little role playing as a Producer of a sucsessful all girl " Las Vegas Show Band ",......so I suppose when I dress like Dan Akroyd, from the movie Doctor Detroit, it 's possible that could leave the impression of a pimp.....................................................................................................................................My cash flow is extreme,.....the dress code is supreme....A little hook line 4 a rap tune maybe.
Long Live " Der Jaegermeister, Ja !! "
