How To Get Started Using Scope Platform?

Hi all,

I just puchased Scope Home 4.5 and installed the software. I've gone through the manuals once, but I'm still at a loss for how to get started using this system. Such as;

Can I use the card to Play through Windows Media Play?
Can I use it for Reason 3.0?
Can I use it for Cubase SX1? I do have an upgrade to Cubase 4 on the way.

Thanks for any help.

3 x yes.
For the media player you should connect Direct Sound Source to your mixer.
Scope works great with Cubase. You'll need your ASIO modules. 16, 24, 32bit - it depends on what you want to produce and how high your pretension is.
Read the manual carefully.

Good luck, Thomas

there are also some preset projects that come with the software for general setups I think.
Working with scope is all about connecting modules in the scope sofware. There are modules that represent audio drivers (like ASIO source/destination) and hardware I/O (analog source/dest) and Midi. Then of course there's mixers to connect your sources to and synths and stuff to plug into the mixers :) Think about your signal flow and connect the modules accordingly.

for general sound coming from windows programs you have to use a wave source module, this basically represents the basic wave driver and shows up as "creamware play/rec" in your windows audio control panel and other applications (like media players).
For Cubase/Reason you want to use the ASIO drivers which have their own modules. ASIO source= sound coming out from your sequencer, ASIO destination is where you feed you audio into your sequencer, same with midi.

Thanks to all those who replied. I was able to get Media Player, Reason and Cubase to play through the right modules.

did you load ASIO modules in SFP, what's your sinc master, did you care starting Cubase after opening SFP, did you read the manual regarding use of ASIO and sequencer?...

If you go to file, open, examples and use some of the pre-configured examples they really help to get you started. They helped me for I did not have a clue as to how to use the sfp. Also as others have said, you do have to go back and read the manuals. Did I say you do have to re-read the manuals? Well you do have to go back and re-read the manuals. Eventually they start to make some sense of it all.

use the "ASIO scope" driver not the multimedia or direct x version. only the ASIO scope let you work with low latencys...

when you start cubase it will ask you to configure and measure your asio system, just chancel this, go to VST setup somewhere in cubase and setup "ASIO Scope" as driver. click okay.

and make sure you have loaded a proper ASIO source in routing window....
its under the menu point "software IOs" , there are different ones, read manual to decide which you need.
