no i didn't. what is busmaster?
just start deframent... lets see.

hd setup:
P.Master-60gb - C,D,E
P.Slave---80gb - G, H (sonar project)

S.Master- CDRW
S.Slave --120gb - F, I , J (all Loops SFX as wav)-- Problem hd.*no internet is here or antivirus.
defragment has done. strange is that the click has a certain tempo :D

is there any chance that both cdrw and hd are working as master :o i didn't put any jumper in the HD.

If both CDRW and HD are master you will have some trouble anyway.
and sometimes no jumper sets the device to cable select which means both device would negotiate who's is master and who's not (does not always work).
if you want to be sure about master and slave, jumper the devices properly. if you set them both master or both slave by accident, chances are good that your computer won't boot, sometimes the devices even don't spin up. so your setup does not seem to be totally wrong... :)

maybe you have room for an additional controller...?! or sata onboard?

Are the disk caches or the rpms of the primary and the secondary channels different ?
where can i find that?

i'd check malster salve... 1st jumper on cdrw. 3rd jumper on HD. also i change from AUTO Detect hardware to Secondary Master/Salve.

@kylie you're right. they'lll not boot. is that somethng to do with IRQ!

thanks
