New System and Multi Tracking

Post by Webby »

Hi all
I just built a new system, an ASUS P5WD2-E with a 3.2 P4 and a gig of ram.
I have the Scope project card and 1 Brhringer Ultragain Pro 8 and I'm looking to add another Pro 8 so I can access all the adat channels. I looking to record my band to do a quick demo and will need to use most of those channels. I have never recorded using more to or three channels in the past and am wondering if anyone here has had experience recording multable channels at once, say 10 or more?

Thanks
Bob

That is not a problem. I can record somewhere around 24 channels with my 1GHz celeron machine.

that depends on your hard disk. how much buffer your hard disk has. 8mb is enough to rec 16track i guess. but if you may buy 16mb buffer hd... its really smooth.
thanks

8mb should be plenty to record 24 tracks and still have headroom.
