Well I jjust picked up a luna II and pulsar I with the some nice software add ons. I got the effect II extension, modular II, Poison, DynoAmp bundle, VINCO DT and more for $204.00 U.S. with the cable. It has been asked before but can you run 4 cards on one machine. If not, then no big deal. The luna goes into my main box for lower asio speed and i add the pulsar 1 to my oasys rig.

it's possible with a custom s/tdm cable and a motherboard that can handle it, or with custom cables and the help of a magma chassis, but it's not suggested nor supported, there is a possibility of damage. it has been done before....

i suggest first getting it up and running with 3 cards, and getting that setup as stable as possible.

Im not sure about this second issue, but both the luna and the pulsar 1 only got on stdm connection, that MIGHT be an issue but others know more about that issue than me

Really? I thought the Scope system was limited to three cards connected together..? (Or is that just a limitation of the standard s/tdm cable which only has three connectors?)

no, it's the limit of support possible by most motherboards(as i understood it). power usage is high, resource usage is high(irqs, bandwidth). afaik, it has been done, mostly with customized motherboards. a few other here at z have tried it and i believe, also a famous guy........that's the extent of my experience in the matter....

I 'll go with the three card system and put the fourth into on of my Oasys rigs. Truly a fantastic value. I can't believe that these first generation cards some with extension plug-ins can be had so inexpensively. When combined with a generation II card you get low latency . Some limited PCI bandwidth but that isn't a big deal for my application.

Ah, right. Cheers for the answer :-)

I'm fairly safe with my 2x 6DSP cards then. *thinks* I must have had them for about seven years now, without a single glitch!

Maybe that's the reason why a studio friend of mine with 4 Pro Tools card in a PC only see 3 cards??! he just switched from Mac - no problemos - to a PC (P4P800 MB) and only 3 of them show in his new PC setup. Can anyone verify?
