Routing Menu, Scope Settings

Hi,

Just been looking through the Scope settings menu for projects etc...and there are two options I'd like to know a little more about.

The options are to connect instruments and effects to sequencer source, and also to connect instruments and effects to MIDI source. There is one "check" box for each of these options and only one can be "checked" at any one time and currently I have the connect instruments/effects MIDI source box checked.

Really, I would like to know what the relevant uses would be for these two options and how much difference (if any) would be noticed either way.

In my projects I have the Seq MIDI Source 1 going into the P2 MIDI A Dest and Pulsar 2 MIDI A source going into Seq MIDI Dest 1 so I can use my synth/controller kybd with Cubase

and...I use Sequencer MIDI source 2 to control the Pulsar synths for example on separate MIDI channels.

I haven't experinced any problems but would just like to know a little more on these two "check" boxes mentioned above in the routing menu for SFP.

No, this is wrong
you ignored the section's title - it reads autoconnect ...
would be a smart automation if it connects all and every midi source and then you'd have to remove half of them by hand afterwards :P

those who prefer midi control from the sequencer choose sequencer source
who prefers to connect a keyboard (or a controllerbox) to the physical port choose midi source
and those who are are convinced that program choices can never be smart simply leave auto-connection disabled :D

cheers, Tom

You can use the midi merger between source and dest too.

Ah,

So I could disable the auto connect and just configure things myself?
