I'm considering upgrading to a new PC with Windows XP 64 bit version, and Intel Dual Core Duo hardware. Can anyone tell me if the Luna II and Scope 4.0 will work on the 64 bit operating system? I'll be using Cakewalk 6 which is supposed to support the 64 bit os.

not yet. cw is working on that. i guess no one has done 64bit... and its a huge issue... another 3 years to jump over to Real 64bit. and the end result is still on 16bit cd not even 24bit
but you can buy the pulsar pro from cw and stay happy forever

nothing like pulsar. TRUST US

stay with planetz... you'll find more....

my 10 years old TripleDat does 80 bits, so what's the fuzz about ???

...
reproduced by (75%) devices that use only 14 bits, playing stuff that was mixed to less than 8 bits of dynamic...

My question is not about audio bit depth.
My question is about the 64 bit version of Windows XP. The 64 bit version of Windows XP makes better use of newer motherboards and supports some crazy amount of RAM. But will the Luna II and the software run Windows XP 64 bit version?
Most people use the 32 bit version of XP.

the 64bit version offers NO advantage. marketing does not make reality, just a perception of it. that said, there is likely to be a 64bit driver soon, just because that's what's happening with the business(manufacturers would rather sell you something new rather than get the most of of what you have/finish-fix what you have). so what if you can have 128gb ram if no app supports it?
but to answer your question, no 64bit driver yet.

its not far. in 5 years things will be 64bit for sure and for all applications.
ram is going to be for sure much more and HDs will be eproms.
things at the moment are slow and have a lot of problems in our pcs.
intel till the end of 2007 will release 10core cpus. no way back.
the only musical instruments that will not loose their value are the classical ones.
and some hardware electronic machines.
in 10 years
will be just ......... like watching pc magazines 10 years ago issue.
and because of geometric increase of technology,.. in 10 years it will seem like 30 years of the previous years.
so 64,128 or 256 bit processing for pcs might not affect the current audio standard(i doubt it...vynil still goes perfect though), but will reduce waste of time.
burning of a cd in 1 sec(that will need other material)
installing os in 1 sec.
formatting in msecs.
installing just like pressing buttons.
and other that have not been thought yet

@iain010100 as you know spf sounds better than native plugins so it might better choice to got a Pro-pulsar which has 14dsp

rather than luna (3dsp)
