i have never played with solaris and i don't know if it is the answer to my question.


does creamware have a synth with such atmpospheric sounds as spectrasonics atmosphere? played with it and it is magical

Perhaps Zarg's Ambient might be more what you're after. However i suppose part of the 'magic' comes from having a large library of some sort, which Ambient probably doesn'y come with (not sure though).

Morpheus V2 is a rich source of atmos etc. Dont forget to experiment, the modwheel is nicley implemented on this one. oh, and try layering it with another synth!

I have achieved great pads w/ Solaris and it's WAV Oscillators. But when I got ProWave, I now had my pad dream. I did this with analog, and it was a knee weakener in the highest order. Using the Oberheim XPander, Matrix-12, and Studio Electronics SE-1x, I could route endlessly, An analog hardware version of Creamware's awesome capabilities.
But Bowen synths are beyond my FAT BASTARD Oberheims. It's just that when those analog beasts mingled, that fatness is only achieved by analog synths.
Try mixing what synths you have now. You will probably get some combos you really like. Then get Bowens Beasts, and you will begin to feel the effects of the rare disease known as WKS. In medical circles it is known as the Weakening Knee Syndrome. For they are the finest synthesizers ever created, digitally, or analog.
There are even modular versions of both, which bring in more awesome possibilities.
We are spoiled by five of the best programmers in the world IMHO.
Creamware,Bowen,SpaceF,ReD_MuZe,Celmo too.
Show me a match for these guys, please. This is THE synth group to beat. Fat Chance @ that happening.

However, the Studio Electronics Omega 8, is the real FAT analog still being made. This is 8 x SE-1x's. I used two and punished many. But 8 would be similar to the Oberheim's FAT XPander.
