normal bugs?

There seems to be some bugs in the modular. Can someone confirm my problems:

(1) somethimes I cannot link cable into holes where they should plug-in fine. If I start with a new patch, the cable plugs in fine. Later not is there any workaround?
(2) and some crashes when browsing and loading some patches back into scope - not exactly reproduceable...
(3) some modules sometimes don`t work the way I want them to do ( envelopes modulating filters sometimes seem to have no influence on the filter) but this could be my fault

Is this normal?
I' ve searched this forum a little bit and many claim its the mod III shell. I really must say I prefer modIII preset handling over the modII shell.

When this happens, right-click the module you're trying to connect to and select disconnected. This seems to reset the module i/o.

I used to think Mod!!! was certainly less stable, or at least more likely to crash my system than Mod!! but now I'm not sure :) Both will without warning crash scope when trying to load a patch. It usually happens when loading large Mods then removing and then opening another large Mod. Thing is as you say it's not reproducible  Loading Mods from the live seems to settle things down a bit
...or so it seems at least

Do you have Flexor? If so connect a val moniter to see whats going on or even connect to audio outputs and capture in an audio editor.

thanks irrelevance,

that information really helps me! I will try your tips soon.

So "my" problems seem to be "normal" , and have nothing to do with my new WinXP installation. :P So I can calm down. :D

Hi . for the 3rd "bug". Sometimes when you duplicate some module with copy paste the new module don't behaves correctly. That happens for example with the envelope follower and some filters. In general re-dragging the module from the drop-down menu is better than copy- pasting.

ah interesting...
thanks faxi...
good to know.

I think I didn`t copy paste the module when I had the problem.

It was the simple flexor hyper smooth envelope connected to the modulation inputs of the a butter filter, where I moved the knobs for modulation.

The gate of the ENV was connected to CV midi in,
at the end no effect was audible, when I moved attack, decay, sustain on envelope etc...

So I inserted the CW one and had a result.

ah just found this! could be thesame problem as I have:

I`m sure I used the MVC B gating the FilterEnvelope...

To make Flexor env's work you should connect esync-out to gate-out (cross connection at the MVC). Sometimes i had to change midi channel of the modular patch (for example if it is 1 then i put it 2 and then 1 again) in order to make them work (that implies to several situations where something has changed in the MVC).

ey, now I checked this and yes with MVC A the Flexor ENVs seem to work like a sharm.

and irrelevances trick with disconnecting a module seems to be a nice workaround for problems with cables.

So 2 of my 3 problems are solved...

the load bug isn`t that bad, I think I can live with that. :)

maybe next SFP version ( 5.0 with vista drivers  and the fully assign- and designable modular MUI for synth creations.... YEEEEEEEEEES ! :D

thanks all!
