8-channel mic pre from PreSonus for SFP system!

Seems like a nice device to complement otherwise
mic pre-less system especially considering SMUX capability to complement SFP if necessary.
Guess I got my X-mas list started, hehehe.

I am in the market for something like this, thanks. The DigiMaxLT seems to be a good unit 4 SFP. What say you GaryB. For live work, and project studio work, the ADA8000, or the DigiMaxLT.

well, the only disadvantage to the digimax is that it's only ad, there's no da.

We've got A16 Ultra for wonderful DA!
DigimaxFS seems like a good addition to SFP since it provides 8 mic pre's. And I like the fact that the input slots are located in the front for easy access.
As far as DA, I'm quite happy with A16 Ultra and I don't really have any use for more than 16 outputs, at least for now...not even counting RCA & XLR outs on Pulsar cards.
Anyway, I suppose DigimaxFS would be better suited with a system that already has A16 or something along the line.

as with the motu 8pre. this one could be otherwise used as a preamp with firewire connection for situations where your scope system cannot be with you. this dual purpose character is something to think about, if you want to be able to use it in a mobile setup. and the price is nice...

For recording I shall get a higher quality AD/DA. 4 live I'll still use D112's, 57's, and the old ADA8000 Ultragain.

The Focusrite OctoPre is also pretty sweet. It has GREAT pre's for recording guitars. The LE version doesn't have the built in compressors/limiters, but I'm not too keen on how they work anyway (one knob controls everything about the compression so there's not much control). On the other hand, the LE offers some cool routing tricks that can't be done with the non-LE, plus it's cheaper by a couple hundred bucks.
